`Have you had any other indications, like dreams/visions? There must be another reason to make you ponder reincarnation.

`Write down the dreams you do remember. In time you will see a sign or pattern. Sounds like a slow process I know but we only learn a little at a time. I guess the Great Mystery allows us to see more when we are most humble. Be grateful for your athletic ability too.

Reincarnation or genetic memories? I remember going fishing with my friend a couple of years ago in a row boat. He did most of the rowing and at one point asked me if I wanted to take over.

I had never rowed a boat in my life but when I got those oars in my hands it was as if I was rowing all my life. He couldn't believe that I could manuever the boat and go at a pretty fast rate of speed.

I wonder how I just "knew" how to do that. Or why do we prefer certain foods, colors, etc.?

`I hope there is reincarnation. I just cannot believe that heaven means sprouting wings and a halo and sitting on a cloud. How boring!! I don't believe in a fiery hell either. I think death is the beginning of a new existence.

`Reincarnation… hummm ? a few years ago, I went to and old ghost town in California on route 49 with an ex-GF. She knew the area but, I had never been here before. As we started to walk through this place, I felt weird sensation and told her, I’ve been here before. She thought I meant recently. I said No not recently but when this town was booming, I explained the clothing of people from the 1800’s. She thought I was joking. So I told her that I’d prove it. I told her that at the other end of this town was a small jail in an alley. Skeptical as she was we walked the dirt street between the boardwalks till we got to the area and I told her a building was missing on that corner, but it was down this alley. You should have seen the startled look on her face when on the wall just above a door half way down this alley was the faded letters J A I L. Don’t know why I knew it was there, maybe I was a regular customer way back then…lol. I was kind of shocked to find it also.

`@ndn8tive1 That's amazing! I haven't had any experiences like that, but I've had flashbacks from my past lives. as of now, I don't know much about them, but I know I'm an old soul and in my last life I died young.

I have had many other simular incidents and I did prove all were true by showing things I knew absolutely nothing about.
its a weird feeling to know these things of the past, but I cant explain it.

`@celticlass62 I believe the term is 'ancestral memories', genetic memories are quite a bit different, and is still different from past life regression.

Ancestral memories are imprints in the primitive mind and control base and extended instincts; anything from knowing to open your mouth for food, to finding your way home even when you are lost, or having heightened abilities in something you have not done before.

Past life regression is having surfacing memories, whether in REM state or consciously, of things that have happened in a past life; a familiarity of the unfamiliar. This can happen while visiting a site that you have not been to before, and yet remember being there before; or meeting someone new and knowing them (not always a soulmate, but could be).

Sometimes spirits follow a bloodline and sometimes they don't. The ones that follow a bloodline will have a closer bond with their past lives and be able to recall more. In this case, the ancestral memory may merge with the past life regression and the memories may surface more as visions and be more vivid; such as being able to recall a jail at the end of an alley in a town you have never been in.

As for heaven and hell: I hope their is a heaven, I don't believe in the harps and halos. Whatever happened to the Happy Hunting Grounds? Heaven is what you wish of it, otherwise, what's the point really?

And I hope there is a hell. I've got some plans, and that's all I'm saying.

`This is very fascinating.. 1st I'm learning of it. I've been told that I'm a natural at a few things in my life. Not certain that's the same at all, just identifying with the idea.

`Shame that most of the earlier posters are gone now.
There is a quote by Henry Ford which is just excellent - "Genius is the product of multiple lives" or something like that. It's exceedingly humbling to think that I'm only smart because I've done it before.

I also understand that very strong interests/passions can also indicate prior loves. So, those of us who don't have confirmed "native" blood and yet feel we need to be part of this group - perhaps we were "native" in a past life.

I have a few memories from past lives and have even met someone who knew me from a previous life. My daughters have definitely been around before. My 6-year-old was actually my own great-grandmother (and I'm beginning to suspect that her 2-year-old sister was her own daughter in her last life!) How do I know this?

Firstly, I was open to the possibility and started wondering when she was bounding around on my bed just like a gymnast (my great-grandmother was a gymnast). She also started saying "cheers" and wanting to clink glasses together - something we'd never done. She picked up a golf club for the first time (never watching anyone other than her older brothers fooling around) and swung it perfectly with follow-through as if she'd been training for years. I asked my dad if his grandmother had played much golf (I knew his mother had) and he said "yes, she was the first president of the Oregon Women's Golf Association." I've also had a vision of her as a 20s woman in her 20s - the right age and another friend dowsed over her and confirmed the suspicion.

(Interestingly, I also know about her life before that one - when she was in India. She was born with a "coffee stain" birthmark on her tummy. I am aware that often these birthmarks are "scars" from a previous life. She was also hypersensitive to being separated from me - always talking about "losing" me... I had always thought this was a metaphor for death until I read about a child in India who really had become lost and grew up in Delhi not being able to get home until they grew up and were able to travel back to the village... So, now, I wonder if she actually *was* "lost" and then died from this wound to her tummy... but maybe that will never be uncovered.)

I'm planning on taking a past-life regression course this summer, so should be able to help more then. :-)
