I am looking to find my native heritage heritage I know for sure I am either Cherokee or mohawk does my mother my grandmother and great-grandmother all came from Montreal .my great grandmother was born on the rez in Montreal and I am Not sure if she is Cherokee for sure but from what my grandmother which has passed and my mother which is also passed has told me that they are of Cherokee tribe descendants of the Cherokee Nation and I'm looking to find my roots my ancestors and that is very hard to do because they didn't keep records my grandfather great grandfather took my great-grandmother off the reservation and turned her into a woman she should not have been he was French from France when he came to Canada he actually had taken my great grandmother from the reservation and turned her from a beautiful woman into a very obese and not very healthy because of his French diet and she was used to her native diet and she ultimately died from diabetes which very much saddens me and I am just looking to find my roots my heritage and possibly find a woman that can accept a half breed like me I don't even like using that word. I do live in our native tradition As I am a hunter very ethical .I think the creator every time I harvest an animal I think and bless the animal for giving its spirit and its flesh for my body to feed me every time I make every time I fish I think I think and bless the animal or fish that has given their flesh and their spirit to feed me I feel I was born in the wrong era in the world I should have been born 200 years ago I don't belong where I'm at I have children I married divorced and looking to find my heritage and get back to tradition and actually my daughter my oldest daughter is trying to find through records through Canada as I was born in Prescott Ontario
