Gentleheart I'm here because I want to make friends, and I'm certainly open to the possibility of a friendship becoming more. Although I was not raised in my native american traditions, I've always felt a strong connection to it-my dad raised us to have those values of caring for and not abusing nature or wildlife, loving the outdoors and respecting our elders. I am now learning more about my 'roots' and incorporating those beliefs into my life. The things that matter most to me are my family,(and my pets are included in that catagory), my faith, which keeps me grounded, and my friends-and I love to make new friends My faith is Christian and spiritual.
Some of the things I enjoy are travel-even just a drive or walk in the country can be an adventure if your eyes are open, music-I have very eclectic tastes, reading for pleasure and for knowledge, and being outside-gardening, beach, horseback riding, camping, flea markets, antiquing, movies if the weather is bad, but most of the time, if the weather is nice I'd rather be outside doing something. IN the summer I attent all the Pow Wows in this area, and this is the highlite of summer for me. I am involved in learning more of my Indian culture,(or Native American if you prefer), and attend Pow Wows as much as possible, and traditional sweat lodge ceremonies, which are very spiritually renewing. I am active with animal rescue, and this is something I have a passion for.
I'd love to meet someone who enjoys at least some of those things, is genuinely kind and loves children and animals,(no hunters, please), and still feels curious and excited about life-someone who isn't bitter, depressed or cynical. Someone who loves to learn new things, be active, and doesn't smoke, except ceremonial. A recent photo would be appreciated as it's nice to have a face to go with the profile.
