Looking for friends Ok this may sound a little weird but my mother was half cherokee, and half mohawk; my dad was irish. So I am only half, my mom and my grandparents never practiced or participated in any native american cultures. Unfortunately I am looking for friends who can help me explain and teach my girls. My reasons for doings so is because one of my children took after my mother's side she looks 100% native american and is very confused. She has been teased at school to the point she cries. I have tried researching things and showing her pics, but their is no one like us in our community. I hope to be able to ease her concerns by finding ways to interact with and learn about that side of our heritage. Any help or advice given is greatly apreciated.
