My Native Twin Understand this and you understand who I am. I am a native woman, Heart, Blood and Soul. Understand the wolf is my brother, the fights of the baffalo wars and my respect of the land beneath my feet. Understand my tears for my ancestors and the pain of my people to this day and you will know who I am.
Understanding the cry of the hawk, the
earth is my mother, and what it is to walk the Red Road. The sound of the drums, the dance, the smell of sweetgrass, sage and cedar. Understand how my fan raises to honor, my respect for my elders, my fast and paint upon my face, and you will know who I am. I am Native always.

The threads that connect us are not bound by space and time. What seems to the individual to be a like twist of fate, from another prespective is simply one of those strings pulled tight.
