I was raised early on being told white,white,white...it is only after meeting some relatives that I discovered who I am and where I came from.Being mixed where I grew up wasn't a good thing to be.I was treated poorly when I stood up for my heritage.To be not accepted by most of my friends because of my fathers side(white)influences took away from how I felt about myself.Only after growing and the changing times have I come to know the longing for my past,that which cannot be made up only passed on to my children so they will know where they really came from.
