I am a widower that is back in college studying history and hoping to teach at a college level one day. I am a mixed-blood metis-Potawatomi and french. I am very involved in the Native community and follow the traditional ways. I am tribal historian and cultural consultant for the United Metis Tribe, an elder of the Wabanoh Medicine Society and a Sun Dancer. I believe in honesty and try to live my life according to the old traditions, but I am also a modern American and must live in two worlds at once. I am looking for a life-partner who can not just accept the Native ways, but participate as well. I'm looking for someone that loves to laugh, is honest, intelligent, loving and has the ability to compromise when necessary. I expect nothing from others I am not willing to give myself. Because of my involvement in the Native community and the few years of college I have left, it is difficult to find someone who is open to all that. My late wife was full-blood Ojibway from Canada and I am not looking to replace her, but my Native lifestyle is hard for those not familiar with it to understand. I don't have much money, but I own my house and have my heart to offer the right lady. There aren't many eligible Native ladies in my area, but perhaps there is someone out there that may be willing to relocate, at least until I finish school. I am not very good at writing these things, but maybe someone will read this and feel my sincerity. If you're out ther, let me know.
