Justbella, 40

Well just as the title states, I am just plain Bella. I am not out find anyone specifically but to make friends of the native culture and learn about a part of my heritage that was lost with my Grandmother who was 100% Cherokee.
I was young when she died and my family was highly religious so for some reason my grandfather felt that the native ways to pagan. My grandmother respected and loved him very much and chose her new family and life with him. In her older years my mother says that grandma tried very hard to tell her about the culture and tried to express her great regret for not passing the heritage on. She had Alzheimer's by the time I was born and she mixed English and a lot of Tsalagi together when her mind had left her, she passed when I was 7.
So here I am Italian and Cherokee and I know nothing of the Cherokee culture other than a book report I did in 5thgrade. I want to meet others and learn of my heritage so that one day if I have children they can know of both sides of their heritage. From what I know my grandmother came from a reservation somewhere in North Carolina. I would love to figure out where and to meet other family members as well.
As far as whom I am; I am an open hearted, kind person, who works very hard. I recruit engineers for a living and have for 3 years. My hobbies consist of Hiking, riding cross country and trails (horseback riding), and cooking. I love going to Ecuador and Myanmar on missions trips to help give care to young children with no families. I have no kids of my own though one day I would love to be a mother, even if I adopt. I like to visit new places off the beaten path. My pet peeve is going for a peaceful vacation and getting stuck in a tourist trap. Down to earth is the best way to describe me. So that's me in a nutshell. Please feel free to write me and tell me about yourself. I am a great listener and would love to meet some new people who are down to earth.
