Mixed blood - missing cultural ties & friends Looking to connect with other natives around the area. I am mixed blood, since my move and currently feel very cut off from other Natives.
I grew up having my mom drive me all over in the mornings for Highland Dance competitions, and then rush home so I would be able to dance at the Potlatch. I feel very fortunate for being raised in both cultures, but find sometimes I have trouble fitting either.
I am proud of who I am, I am smart, funny, shy in big crowds, but when needed I can be charming and sociable. I like learning new things, I volunteer in Emergency Management and am good at it. I don't mean that to sound like bragging but I still come across people that are shocked at what I do and don't understand it. I work full time during the day as an office manager at a small company. It is a good job and gives me my evenings and weekends free.
I went to WIPCE 2005 (World Indigenous Peoples Conference on Education), and am planning on attending the 2011 conference.
I am open to questions and enjoy getting know new people.
My dislikes include: drugs, tapioca (ICK!) and prejudice. I like to laugh, I like to learn, pretty much I like life.
