Hello everyone! My name is Valeriu (you can call me Val) and I am a 40 years-old Romanian doctor living and working in Finland (northern European beautiful country). I am married.

I grew up in beautiful Romania, a small country located in South-Eastern Europe. My parents were both professors at university. I have no brothers or sisters.

It is a great pleasure for me to be on this website, as I have always had a deep respect and admiration for Native American cultures and languages.

I remember first reading about the Native American Indians when I was a kid in my homecountry Romania. I experienced a sense of spiritual elevation and a truly magical state, when reading, for example, about the mythology of the Indian nations. Then I felt very much attracted to their languages, which sound so beautifully to my ears, like from a different world.

I am here to find Native American longterm friends with whom to keep in touch and possibly even meet in real life.

I have visited the US in 1995 and I remember seeing back then the Tonawanda Indian Reservation in NY state.

I am currently studying on my own several Native American languages and I would appreciate very much to find friends from those nations (Cheyenne, Lakota, Arapaho, Blackfoot, Ojibwa, Apache, Navajo, Kiowa, Comanche, Ute, Shoshone, Hopi, Pawnee, Crow, Osage, Nakoda, Muskogee Creek, Cherokee, Tlingit, Haida, Tsimshian, Inuit, Alaskan Yupik).

As I am a person who highly appreciates and supports ethnolinguistic diversity and with a keen interest in Native American languages and cultures, I hope to be able one day to contribute to the revitalization of at least one native language.

As a culturally sensitive doctor (psychiatrist), I would be honoured to find even a short-term, temporary opportunity to visit a Native American community and learn about their traditional healing methods and conceptions about life and holistic health, also attend language courses and interact with community
