I come from a line of people who carried strength quiety and lived with purpose. My great grandmother was born Choctaw and raised Commanche. She had been a slave who won her freedom. My great grandfather was Cherokee. There are other tribes with whom my family has had a historical connection that I am only in the early stages of exploring. But it is the stories of my father and my grandparents that have motivated me to look deep into my ancestors and the legacy that they have passed on. As I was not raised within a native community, their language and customs have not been part of my life. Yet, it is important that I honor them and respect them. The older I get, the more I feel called to reconnect with the traditions, ethics, and worldview of my ancestors: honoring the Creator, walking with integrity, valuing community over ego, and remembering that strength is proven through service, not noise.
Today, I teach my son my deep respect for family, the land, responsibility and the belief that we are meant to protect and uplift those around us.
My life philosophy is simple: build what lasts. Build family. Build peace. Build a future that honors the people who came before me. I believe in loyalty, in showing up when it matters, and in treating others with fairness and dignity.
Today, I find myself fulfilling the role of a father, a leader, a storyteller, an artist, and someone who believes that heritage is not something that we inherit, but it is something we steward.
I hope to connect with a woman who values culture, authenticity and purpose. I respect the journey.
On a personal level, I hope to find love, romance, partnership, a friend and the spirit that will accompany me for the rest of my journey. I hope to find someone with whom can share much of their hopes, dreams and aspirations.
