Hello In the short term, am looking for a male ski buddy - must be advanced level or above - to ski with in US and Canada during 2009 / 2010 season. Prefer slopes out West to Eastern ice but who knows what the weather holds and if conditions are good, I'll go anywhere. Am looking for someone real to share a love of mountains and skiing with. No posers or players please.

In the long term....

A friend once described me as fundamentally poetic in my sensibilities. I add "athletic" to that and feel satisfied that this covers the basics of who I am. I love to be in motion -- hopefully going forward but life has loops and zig-zags as well. I grew up in a large family in a small town outside of Portland, OR with skiing, beach trips, swimming and horses. Relocated to New York in 1995 to pursue an interest in politics. My interest in politics is really an interest in social motion. I like to be a part of that and the challenge of trying to shape that motion in a humanistic fashion.

I admire ambition in others and when its tempered with humility, I'm drawn. I'd like to meet someone who has enjoyed some success, suffered setbacks and managed to keep his determination and sense of humor. Someone who is more philosophical about the ups and downs of life than frustrated by them. Someone honest and kind. A man with broad interests and unique talents he’d like to share with a creative partner.
