Hello all,
I am new here.
What brought me over is my desire to "meet" online native people who take pride in their heritage and descendance, and preferably who practice "the old ways", in other words people who are heavily involved with their culture.
Native Americans, First Nations, Indigenous People, Indians, call it what you want, have been a fantasy of mine ever since I was a kid.
That sense of freedom, and that sense and memory of being bonded with everything at the same time, that openess of running in the open land, moving around, this way of living a friendly life for our planets, a low impact life... and also... the fierceless warriors with their war painting, the mightly archeres and riders, the people who walk softly, speak little and low and run fast...
All these leggends, and all these stereotypes have accompanied my dreams and my wandering in the fantasy land for so many years.
I realize that today, several hundred years later from the period i tried to describe things are a little bit diffrent.
I understand that viewing the Indians like that, might be as silly as thinking that the Greeks wear while togas, and live in marble temples.
But at the same time I feel that the indians who are trully involved with their own culture, probably still hold that special bond with nature.
Probably still relate to others in similar ways, and probaby still carry on a couple of their original customs.
Forgive me for my ignorance, but at least this is the way I would like to think of that special kind!
Keeping their hair long, and tying up a water drum
Anyway, you get the idea I think...
I am miles and miles away from the natural environment of this great culture, and internet is my only gateway to getting to understand and know them a little bit better, hopefully through some online chatting and emails....
Who knows, I might even find that Indian Warrior, I ve been dreaming of ever since I remember myself
May the spirits watch over you
