Posted: Post subject: I have a question for the Native Women |
|
|
The last Native man I dated for a while used to make remarks all the times about me reactingly emotionally about things. I have been assaulted and have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. After years of counseling it is managable. He remarked "oh you poor thing, wah wah wah" I was stunned and wondered after he said "We are not bothered by such things we give them over to the spirits." That sounds really cool but I'd still want the man in my life to hold me, squeeze my hand and tell me it will get better, it will be alright and not be made fun of for feeling that way. Do you not want those same things?

According to my family, and often times in others, and especially so with so many native girls (which is common), I would have to say it's not surprising that a lot of native women suffer from emotional problems...so that guy is full of himself...I can almost understand where he's coming from (maybe he grew up with sisters) but that doesn't mean it's right. Using the word "we" to emphasize his thoughts like that is a bit off the wall if you ask me.
Hope you didn't mind a guys thoughts on it..

`Hi John, thank you.....I have heard there is as high incident of especially on the rez. I can say personally this has been hell to live through and come out on the other side. I notice that you are younger than say my generation. I notice the younger people seem to be a bit more tolerant and perhaps curious about other peoples. I like that. Thank you for your kindness.

I know a Papago woman who was by 5 black men in Arizona. She recovered from the ordeal and moved on and married a white man and had three beautiful children. She is happily married. Her husband is a very patient man. She's lucky.
You would be amazed just how many white men and black men women.
This is commonplace in the white man world's place.
Where do you take this statment from ?
There are no specifical white ADN pushing to women.
This judgment is opposite to the story you tell before.
Do not confond racism or misogynism and color of skin.
These subjetcts are serious enough to take care of what we write

Article I of the Treaty, the so-called “Bad Men clause, states:
“If bad men among the whites, or among other people subject to the authority of the United States, shall commit any wrong upon the person or property of the Indians, the United States will, upon proof made to the agent and forwarded to the Commissioner of Indian Affairs at Washington City, proceed at once to cause the offender to be arrested and punished according to the laws of the United States, and also reimburse the injured person for the loss sustained.
Horowitz noted that clearly the assault of Native women by white men was an issue in 19th century America; hence this provision in the Treaty. (The irony is that this Treaty was signed at the very time that the US Government was carrying out genocide against Native people.) Sadly assault of Native women by non-Native men remains a tragic fact in 21st century America as well.
So this federal court ruling, if upheld on appeal, becomes a significant legal resource in support of Native women from any nation covered under the Laramie treaty who are by “bad men among the whites, or among other people subject to the authority of the United States. It asserts restitution, a moral standard of justice which speaks to healing, as also a legal standard and legitimate expectation for survivors
Have you just one idea of the number of "white" are living on this hearth ?
"Whites OR other peoples" all of them are first AMERICAN !!
Come to my "white" world and you will have to wait more than your life long to be,even if you're especially attractive.
The only way for you to reach this "goal" would be to act as a b*ch or to fall on a "stranger" ! |

`There is a nice racial statement blaming the white man for raping women and children!! So sad that you would even say such a thing..Common placed in a white man's world!!! You need to stop reading your propaganda web sites. happens in all races Black, Red, Yellow, and White..Things that were done to me as a child was not done by a white man, it was my own people.
YOU ARE WHITE WHY WOULD YOU TRASH YOUR OWN PEOPLE? DO YOU THINK WE WOULD RESPECT YOUR LACK OF LOYALTY TO YOUR OWN KIND?
So shut the hell up!!!

`I was nearly at the age of 8 by my female cousin and was for 29 days before I could find a way home, by a man I thought wwas my boyfriend. My cousin is white and the man who me whas Italian-American and also an MP in the National Gaurd. I have suffered from post traumatic stress disorder for 10 years now and have had many horrific flashbacks. You CAN NOT say that only one race is responsible for most rapes in this country. ALL RACES, MALE AND FEMALE!
This is to you Tsalagi2:
God bless you, I know how hard it is to live through being a victim of. I too have been in a relationship where I was made fun of becasue I sometimes become emotional about it. He later flung me around the room and left and never came back (thank God!). I have never found a man who has been understanding of what I've been through but I'll never stop my search because of some idiot who took advantage of my youth. I go by a phrase I have heard many times WHAT DOESN'T KILL US ONLY MAKES US STRONGER! I have lived through a lot, been to phychologists and they always say to me, you must be a strong person to have lived through all you have and I think of that phrase. I wish you all the best and I hope that in the future you find a kind, gentle, and loving man who will be understanding. Good luck and again, God Bless!

`Yes, they were...are both white. But I think it is sterotypical to say that the majority of people who are are by white men. there are millions of women who never report being and who knows what race of person they were by.
You deal w/p.t.s.d. the best way you can. I still jump when I hear loud noises, certain smells bother me like the smell of beer, the midnight hour... I am not saying that you aren't haunted by what happened, trust me, but you try the very best way you can to deal with the pain and move on. If you do not do this, then the man or people who hurt you wil win and personally I will not let them beat me. I am stronger than that. In saying that, I'm not saying that I don't have my bad days. In January I made then ten year mark since I was.It was a hard month and most of the time I layed in bed and I cried. Part of it was the shock of making it this long with very little help and the other part was grief. This man took all I was and ripped it out of me and it has taken me a very long time to find my way back. So you "deal" with every part of it...grief, p.t.s.d., flashbacks the very best way you can so that you can live life. I will NEVER let him beat me. That's called being strong, which is necessary in all parts of life. My cousin, I forgave her a few years ago, and as for the man, I forgive him as well. If you don't forgive then it brings down your spirit. You find yourself drowning in oceans of sorrow and in the end, it just isn't worth it. I sit here and I'm crying, it is still hard for me to talk about, I was just trying to help and I hope that for someone, I have.
