The rain came down
Hard and wet like passion
Pounding and beating
Everything in its path
Like a relentless lover
And in a boom of thunder
I heard your name
And I remembered
the thirst I once felt for you
Like a forgotten Obsession
The rain began to subside
And the drops fell sporadically
Like the times that we spent
A gust of cold wind chills me
I've seen enough storms
to know how this one will end
The lightening is fierce
but it will move on
The thunder will echo
but in time will be silenced
Even the rain, so intent on saturating
And soaking the ground
Will subside and depart
like my forgotten lover.
