I live in California in the East bay. I live right on the hills, but between the hills and where I live is the creek. A mountain lion came down from the hills and has been sighted at the creek and walking up and down the streets of my neighborhood! I'm not all the scared about it, but generally what's done to wild animals around here when they come into contact with people is being shot. Personally I think they should just be relocated farther away or put in a sanctuary. After all, WE are removing their natural habitat! But, what do all of you think :

`Gee Trub..I will LOVE to see that! when and where you plan to kick some mountain lion a** let me know so that i can have the popcorn ready (and some tourniquets, bandages, stop clot, ect) ..thats a show I dont want to miss!!lol

`nanabrianna, i live on a mountainside and i am not kidding you, there are tons of owls out this summer. and i can also almost guarantee that i heard moutain lion cubs crying last spring/summer in the mountain. the only protection i have is my german shephard mix who is always galavanting off the ranch. so, i have to be careful when i go out at night, between owls and cougars, i could be late dinner :)

`I hope you don't end up dinner! Isn't Trubblemaka supposed to be guarding you?! Is he slipping up?! There is an update on the mountain lion, it's back in the creek, and the police have decided to set traps to catch it instead of shooting it on site. It's a good thing I have protection, my little pomeranian and my dachshund should do the job!

My best guess, judging by your picture, would be for you to belly-flop on top of the cat and lay there until it stops breathing.
