`i invoke the spirit of the warrior
the wisdom of the healer
to guide me thru this trubbled life
i walk the streets an urban skin
labeled for my trubbled life
i see the pain and misery
in the eyes of all my people
this trubbled life has left its mark
but i refuse to be defeated
rise my people proud and strong
unite and fight our trubbled past
this trubbled life has touched us all
when we are one we'll break its grasp

`Good poem....What native peoples say about white people is true. In the white man's world, there is a lot of violence, discrimination, homeless outcasts and dysfunction issues. That is how life is in the dominant society. I know a guy who wanted to change that. He went out to help relieve homeless people from their suffering. I was there. We brought foods and other things to meet their needs. These homeless people were members of different races including Native Americans. This was in skid area in downtown Los Angeles. My friend had taught me many things. He is Hopi. I am forever grateful for what he had taught me. There are not that many insightful guys like him. There were a lot of white people who looked down on native peoples. I had met plenty of white people who did not like native people because of the color of skin. It is a fact that I know. My father's mother used to tell me about our ancestors being Indian. My father's second wife is Indian (she is 1/4 Spanish) from Bolivia, South America. Her grandfather was from Spain. The percentage of fullblood Indian population is very high there. My father's mother told me that my half brother who is half Bolivian had experienced discrimination in white schools. The teacher there labeled my brother as a trouble maker. My grandmother said that the teacher discriminated against her grandson. My grandmother's hair was black, too. The teacher did not like my half brother because he is mixed as you could tell by his black hair. A lot of white people don't like black hair or tan skin. We need more teachers of color that can provide mentorship, not discrimination. My half brother visited his mother's people in Bolivia 2 times. I had seen the picture of his cousin who looked just like the Navajo people. He is now married with 2 girls and my half sister visited him last March.
