I do not stand so close to the edge
Fear keeps me at bay. keeps me safe.
it is not the fear of the space between top and bottom,
it is self preservation.
I fear that should I step too close,
inch slowely up and hang over the rail,
that i will be pulled,
invisible hands grabbing hold,
I fear that I will push off,
arms spread wide,and leap.
out ... across... and down.
that no wind will rush across my arms,
no adrenaline pumping through my veins.
No heart stopping death. nothing.
only that empty void,
pergatory.
