Walking thru the Valley

I wake from these happy dreams and am alone
and walk the halls of this house
where those dreams were sewn
of love that was to last for life
But what is left is internal strife-
The war within against dreams undone
I wish for rain, but my eyes squint in this sun.
I place my hand to breast and find my heart still beating
even though my spirit walks thru the Valley of Death
'cause my souls still bleeding.
I await the night where I may be
found by dreams again
while darkness surrounds me.
