Mind if I give a different perspective on something here? I have been going back and forth with a woman for a couple of days off this site about how the earth is going to die and how humans should be gone from here, in a nutshell. George Carlin said that the Earth "will just shake us off like a bad case of fleas" one day- WE wont "destory" her. This is a powerful, living, intellegent 'organism'..if nothing else she will just send out a plague, or blow off a portion of the earths crust, and thats that.."problem" solved. I don't believe 'people' are THE problem..GREED, 'evil' are. It didnt have to be like this, and it wont forever anyway. ..I find it bordering on the irrational to me to say one cares for the earth so much, but despises the very people that the earth has loved, nurtured, and cared for. When we are born it is the air that is planet is creating that gives us our first breath..our existence out of the womb of our human parent. Those who speak of the Earth this way have no more understanding of it and are stereotyping as society does a woman. A weak, NO force, with little ability to watch over its own well being. Now I am not saying "yeah trash the planet..no big deal" I AM saying we should not insult and underestimate this Earth, and we should be more worried about the values we have toward it and EACHOTHER that has allowed for things to get into the sad state WE ALL are in in the first place. P/S: if you said you loved me but hated my children you would know nothing about me...I AM my mothers daughter.
