So, I take it that people like to see a picture of you more than they want to get to know you. I have been asked by several people to put a pic on my profile so that they can see me.
For one, I am having a problem getting the pics to load. But, another thing, why is it so important that these people see me? Is the physical aspect of someone better than what is inside or even their intelligence?

I think maybe you know the answer to your own question.

I would say as human beings we want to put a face to who we are talking to; the mystery eats at us and has us wondering.

I think it's better to be upfront about who you are and what you look like, both at the same time. This is because the possibility exists for a persons you thought you knew, to change their mind because they decide they are not physically attracted.

`Johnmarlon, I can understand what you are saying. I guess it just irritated me that some people wanted to know what I looked like in order to know me better. I was wondering at the time...why would my picture help them know me more? But, it makes sense that they would want to put a "face" to the profile.
Then there was the other thought...what if they liked me, were attracted to me and we hit it off and got together. Then let's say that we grew old together, but with time physical beauty fades. What would they do then? Or perhaps there was a disfiguring accident? Would they leave? I guess I just think that people can be a bit shallow at times. Many times!! I take a person for who or what they are, not what they look like. But I guess that comes with maturity and age!! Who knows.

`hi johnmarlow and rosesandwine2, you both hit the nail on the top, I like to see a pic on a profile, makes it a little bit easier for me.. but I think a pic only makes sense when you use a pic of yourself and not as some people on here prefer a pic they found on net from a nice looking guy or women. I am always honest i use my pic..not everybody is doing that and you might get cheatet ( didn´t we talk about that before?) I would prefer a pic, but it´s not a duty.. and people who are just looking for pics to j.... off well we found a lot of them here.. they aren´t interested in your values, ideas etc. anyway.. when receiving mail from people who do not respect you as a person you have the right to block them.. I will always be honest, use my pic.. block people who do not have any respect of women and hope that the persons who are writing back are just the same trustworthy as I am.

`Ok, now I know why my pictures would not load!!! They were not in jpeg. Got them fixed, so they should be up pending review. Now, maybe I will not be bothered about putting pictures on my profile.
No glam, just me...on a good day, I hope!!! LOL!!

`It is nice to have a face to go with the name, otherwise when I am reading something they wrote or when writing to then all I can see in my minds eye is a person with an empty white spot where a face should go, kind of like a blank canvas to be filled with them. As in real life it is nice to put a face with the name. I am sure others have different reasons.
I will always return a smooch to a person with a picture, makes no matter what they look like, but never to a person with out a picture,not even if they looked like stepped out from the pages of a male fashion magazine.

do you mean JPG? I think you need to convert your photos to JPG first before you can post them on here. You can open your selected picture in Paint first, then click "Save as" and save it as a JPEG file!

`rosesandwine, I can understand why you question that people want to see your picture, however lets face it many people here are looking for a mate,
and its not very realistic to expect someone to risk dissipointment when they think they found mr. or mrs. right.
I would hate to think that I am shallow for this statement but truth is truth
and physical attraction is vital to all living beings. even in the animal world.
And one persons beauty may shine in a different light than another, so be bold and confident .
