Just wanted to add a little topic on art. Here are two recent drawings I did a couple of months ago. Enjoy.

Thank you all for your comments. I really do appreciate it. I'll be honing my skills this fall when I begin my first art class. I'm hoping to distinguish myself by doing some Native watercolor paintings in the future.

Here is another drawing I did. I'm guesstimating this drawing was done two years ago. My apologizes on the quality. I took a picture of it rather than scan it, so it's a little skewed. I must admit this is my best bear drawing ever. I can never get it right.

`Great picture:) Your bear turned out pretty good. Even through the slight distortion you mentioned it still looks like a cool peice. I get what you say, but we are all our own worst critics. Keep going, keep shareing and good luck with your art classes.

here is the "final" piece of the drawing from my first post. I drew it for a friend of mine hence the title. I replace the wolf with an eagle which I thought looked better. I went through 6 sketches total. I do need to work on the eyes because she looks sad.

`Just amazeing. I do not see the sadness so much in the eye but a little in the mouth. Still it is a beautiful and wonderful peice. You really drew the eagle very well. My favorite so far has to be the colored pencils on black paper. Her eyes are so expressive and draw you in. Her smile is so warm and soft. Enchanting is all I can say.

My end goal with all this is to get into watercolor. What I really want to do is an il----rated children's book. The plan is to gather stories and paint various scenes. The book will be written in both English and Navajo. I am very eager to learn more of my Dine' stories so I may pass down to future generations. This would also be a great learning experience for me.

I have set various goals for myself which i dub, "My 5, 10, and 15 year plans." This book will fall into the later at this point.

`That's a great idea N8tvman. It sounds like the end result will be one that could really help in terms of the presevation of language, stories and culture. Something I really believe needs to be done. Because you plan on useing both languages in the book, it could be a very usueful tool as far as teaching the Navajo language. I wish you luck with the book and hope you attain your goal of getting into watercolors.
