It seems that in these days that we live, most people label everyone and everything. People that are different or have a different point of view are wrong or labeled bad! My grandfather was 3/4 cherokee from the eastern band. I didn't get to know my heritage. I was married to a full blood cherokee and i suffered alot of abuse. This abuse caused my miscarriage, and my divorce. I am 43 and still waiting to meet a good native man. I look mostly white, and so does our daughter. I am very proud of my cherokee blood, but i don't romantize out native heritage. I have witnessed the family disfunction iof the white and cherokee relatives of mine. I seen the diffreences in thier thinking, beliefs, and judgements of esch other. My daughter promised her dad's parents that she would only date native boys and marry a native warrior some day.A lot of people would disagree with that but i understand and i only want her to be happy. There are good and bad in all races, but i consider myself Native american! Why? Because for many personal reason's, but mainly because the beliefs and feelings in my heart and soul! Some day i pray to meet the native warrior who walks in my soul, but until then i remain a ggo mom, a good, person, and a ggod woman who is a mixed blood cherokee. Peace! Lisa/
