Here is another poem. Based on part of an experence from a few years back that continues to effect me for the positive to this day. Thank you again Grandfather Bear.
In the distance
the Earth's heart was quietly beating
when he came to me that day
Tall and powerful
he stood over me
Lush cinnamon fur shining in the sun
Obisdian eyes rich with wisdom looked on me
with an all knowing gleam
THere was compassion there
A paw gritty with calluses
gently rested on my forehead
Though heavy
it gave comfort
It smelled of the Earth Mother
Claw drawn down my face
throat
chest
A single red line
connecting head and heart
Silently burning
it buried itself deep within
Gently throbbing till it found its place
then was quieted
filled with wonder
I looked into those obsidian eyes
those gleaming all knowing eyes
His gaze was steady and quiet
His form though giant was calming
It promised shelter
offered friendship
THen as if satisfied with his work
he dropped to all fours
walked into the distance
and was gone
Thank you Grandfather Bear
for everything
