Literature about and/or by Native Americans/American Indians?
Suggestions? Reviews?
Anyones thoughts about books by Shermon Alexie or the book "One Vast Winter County - The Native American West before Lewis and Clark" by Colin G. Calloway?

.... i just bought that book but havent opened it yet. I was looking for a poem I saw an actor read in a movie. It referred to something about how to write about a native american... -referring to the sterotypes that movies, books, and society expects when they read or see and american indian. I wish I knew what book that come from. I dont even recall the title of the movie.

`Maybe I need to read those books (lol). I generally only read scientific things and fact based sort of stuff. Was never much for reading fiction and so forth. However, I am very impressed with Alexie, has some good political commentary.

`I'm actually reading Mitakuye Oyasin - "We are all related" by Dr. A. C. Ross... It about the relation between tribal beliefs and philosophy and really good so far!
