We are like shooting stars-we burst upon the scene for an all to brief shining moment and then in our passing dim and fade away-not to return.
In view of this absolute how enamored of ourselves should we become? How self important?
Better to shine a light on someone elses path than on ourselves.

`how can we?? it happens when some are self obsessed and there-for can they be held to blame if they have not noticed when they are being this way?? like a crazy person cannot be held accountable for certain actions.......not everyone can see their way as clearly as others ..... does it men they arent the same as us...or that they just arent bright enough to notice whats going on round about them...cant see the wood for the trees so to speak......im waffling eh lol

In your last post, you stated: "Better to shine a light on someone elses path than on ourselves". I couldnt agree with you more. I started noticing about a dozen years ago or so, that when things started going 'wrong' for me, ego had gotten in the way. What i wanted, didnt want, etc. When i realized that, i would concentrate on what i could do for others. Immediately, life (or whatever we call this) would get better for me. So yes, you are absolutely right - it IS better to shine the light on someone else. My grandfather used to tell me that our obligation to others was to help them become WHO they were supposed to be, to help them attain all they were capable of becoming. Your words echoed this.
