|
|
For some people, when they hear the word "difficulty", their initial reaction is to back away from it. As for them, the connotation of the this word brings them discomfort, fear, anxiety, among other related emotions and thoughts.
For others, they see beauty and opportunity, which they achieve after they choose to learn from it and make the best of the situation. Upon doing so, they also achieve/maintain peace, while also gaining wisdom and knowledge. These are blessings. When living in this manner, blessings can be enjoyed even more than before. Kisses are sweeter, when you hold your partner, you feel more of his or her energy. And that is all nurturing the foundation of your love for one another.
It is ok to back away initially from difficulty; however, it would be good to come back to it again after a small pause to calm yourself down. But to stay away from it for good, is to miss wonderful opportunities. Thereafter, peace is not attained or whatever peace they had previously is now lost.

`Agreed
Incidentally, one Lakota word that means "difficult" is "tehiya".
And one word that means "to love" is "tehila".
Notice they both have "tehi" as their root. This is teaching that through difficulty, love can arrive. And to maintain and nurture that love includes learning from difficulty, among other things.
A sentence that goes something like:
Ata tehiya mankelo. (Spoken by men)
or
Ata tehiya manke. (Spoken by women)
This sentence can mean two things:
1. I am in a very difficult way. (Or, I am going through a difficult time.)
2. I am in love.
Lakota language is very musicial. Hence, the way you define that sentence is how you say it musically.
Either way, it shows that love and difficulty have a connection. And that connection depends on how we live our lives. Like Loveternal says, it depends on if you are going to face it and learn from it, and make the best of it. Or, if you are going to run away from it and never face it.

`If you choose to learn from difficulties and make the best of them that you can, the chances are really good that you will naturally attract someone like that, as well.
And when both of you are like this, both of you will know how to process difficulties that will come to the relationship in such a way that the result will be increased love for one another. Doing this requires open and nonjudgmental communication skills, which include knowing how to actively listen rather than just hearing.
And as Loveternal says, living in this way, blessings can be enjoyed even more than ever before.

There is another Lakota word with the "tehi" root in it. That word is "otehike", which means "difficult", as well.

`Oh that is so cool concerning the Lakota words "tehila" and "tehiya" and "otehike". That is so amazing how Lakota words teach such wonderful spiritual concepts like that!

`And so you can see why when living a life of Lakota spirituality, how important it is to also speak Lakota. The language and spirituality need each other. You cannot have one without the other for the whole thing to be the most effective, whether it regards ceremonies, singing or speaking.
Some people say that as long as you do things from your heart, that is enough. But I disagree because Lakota language creates certain frequencies which have to be present at Lakota ceremonies. This is the only way that the spirits and other unseen energies can do the work that is requested of them. English and other languages have frequences, too, but their frequencies are not conducive to Lakota ceremonies.
And yes we need to do things from our hearts, but that is only half the concept. We have to use our minds and hearts together. Why else would we have them?

`I like that
And I am aware that other tribes may see that differently, but I prefer the Lakota way because it agrees with the way I think about life, too.

And speaking of going through a difficult time, my heart, thoughts and prayers go out to the people in Paris, and all of France. What happened on 13 November 2015, is quite heartbreaking.
What we have been discussing in this topic can also apply to a nation. And really, when something of this magnitude happens, it affects everyone in this world.
We have to remember that the foundation of our existence is love. The foundation of the universe is love. And we need to look at one another as our Mother Earth see us, which is as brothers and sisters. And this is how we begin to learn from this experience. And this experience will only make us stronger in love for one another, as well as for ourselves.
If we think of only revenge, we allow hatred to erode away our foundations. And one of the results is that we will start to see less and less of the fullness of reality. And with hatred as the foundation of our hearts and minds, we will not be fully effective as parents, husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, doctors, teachers, among other things. We will become less than human, and will become terrorists, as well. Revenge is never justice.
Justice begins with healing, so that we can keep our vision as clear as possible, so that we may comprehend the fullness of reality. In this way, we will see things that the terrorists are not able to see. Then we can truly "neutralize" them, and love will remain as our foundation. This is justice.
In Lakota, men say "Tekicihila po!" And women say "Tekicihila pe!" Both sentences mean "Love one another!" This is how we enable ourselves to perceive and comprehend the fullness of reality. With love as our foundations, we can see and comprehend more of reality than those with hatred as their foundations.

`Yes, I most humbly agree with your statements. I like that phrase "Tekicihila pe!" I also agree that our foundation is based on love. When we replace that with hatred, we are violating nature.

Of course, sweet woman! However, we have the power from living in a healthy way to influence nice things to happen to each other. to lessen the effects of hatred.

I think it's more important that we have peace inside ourselves first, because reality begins within. We have the power to choose how we are going to react, when someone does something bad to us. And we have to use our hearts together with our minds to do that effectively.

`As long as we have peace within ourselves, we can influence something nice to still happen. For example, let us imagine a man who has peace within himself. And he meets a woman, and they have many nice discussions with each other. And then the woman begins to be affected by his peace. And she develops a love for him.
And the man, he too is developing a love for the woman. And they look forward to seeing each other everyday. And when they are apart even if for only a few hours, they miss each other. And when they finally see each other again, they run to each other. The energy they have is influencing love to everything around them. And this can lead to peace. And people will feel it.
Now let us say some of those people like what they feel from this couple. And they start to live better lives and be more healthy. And their friends feel this, too. And they want to enjoy that, as well. So they change their lives for the better, too. And it continues to do this, and the love spreads out more and more. This increases the chance for peace to spread out more and more to touch more and more people.
I think it is people who must do this, if they want it. No matter how many bad things are happening in this world, we can still influence love to others and have hope. Hope is a very powerful thing to have.
Now let us go back to the first story I was telling. Now let us say this man is now hoping this woman will say yes to him, when he asks her to move to him. And he is visualizing that they are already living together, and enjoying it. Then he comes back to the present moment and suddenly he is receiving inspiration to help that visualization to come true. This is the power of Hope.
And just like this man is hoping for his woman to move in with him, we can hope and pray for peace, as well. That is better than doing nothing.

When you do nothing about something, then nothing will happen. So if you want something to happen, you have to "do" something. Does that make sense? LOL!! :)

Now you two behave! Just kidding!
It is so crazy what is happening in Europe since the attack on Paris. Now yesterday in Hanover, Germany, there was a bomb threat. Germany received information from France about an Aphgan terror cell in Germany was planning to set some bombs to explode in a football game between Germany and Netherlands. So the game was cancelled and everyone at that stadium was evacuated away from there.
I am still feeling the shock from what happened in Paris. And some of those attackers in Paris came through Germany earlier. Then they traveled into Belgium, where they planned that attack on Paris.
This is a difficult time here and we have to do our best to not let it ruin our everyday lives. Its better to face it carefully. But it is still scary because you never know who is a terrorist, since some of the ones involved in the Paris attack were French citizens. The same is probably true for Germany, too. We have to love the ones we are close to, to support one another emotionally, and begin from there, I think. I believe we can go through any difficulty, but sometimes it is difficult to do that. But it is possible.
