`As a Christian I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with a fellow Sister in Christ. She may have been a little excited ( understatement) I'm sure that she didn't mean any harm. It does sadden me to hear that she has stopped befriending you because of your beliefs or views as to the color of God (Creator /Father) of all living things great and small. Our Father is Red, Black, Brown, Yellow etc... which ever he chooses to reveal him self to his people He did create of skin tones, after all(Man is made in his image.) Father comes to us in what he knows will not make you uncomfortable; He has visited me in the image of my mother, who left this world years go. He being my Creator knows that I'm comfortable with the image of my mother and will readily except the massage / instruction he has for me. I do not agree with her actions or words, as a Christian again I apologize for the insensitive behavior. I know that when YOU have a relationship with Him( Father/ Creator), you come to understand that putting him in a box limits your understanding of who he is and what he wants for his Creation & Children it also stanches your growth.
Sweet.
Have a bless night.

"Red is beautiful for it is the color of life"

I totally understand what your saying... I myself refuse to use the word or term " black" to describe myself or my children even the people of my community. and I am offend by it. I am a woman of color who's complexion is the color of a Roasted Chesnutt, bronze in tone, the same as my Monacan ancestor's. Black is the color of something that is evil, tar, the bottom of most shoes,a pocketbook, black as night ect... when the night is not black but a deep midnight purple-blue color. Do I look like these things "NO"...so why refer this to me or any person of very dark pigment?
I'll be so glad when society starts to see people as people not by coloring. The sad part is that people of color have become so trained by the society that we live that we've started referring to our selves as black, red, yellow, white ect... Just like seals in a circus have been trained to ingest and regurgitate.

"Nothing's sweeter than Truth"

`The whole religious experience is really hard. Just recently an church burned down on a an Apache Res,recently . It was really omnious.
The Hopi people when raising their children never imposed learning on the children. I liked this concept till this day. Of learning when that person is ready.
Like, seeing the children as Elders, because they already went through so much. Like , lifes experiences were real hard ,different people have dealt with differently. Like for instance, Enrollment hits a big nerve for alot of people. Getting silver hair at a young age,it sort of spiritual to me.
I never ever ask about Enrollment to my family. They will just look at you so crazy. It was a real Loss.
I saw a video of a Teacher in Mexico ,he talks all about how our Grandmother was Black and she was in the closet. And the cultural strife it caused. I all my life found this to be like metaphysical pain and needed to get acceptance so we can heal and move one.
Alot of mexiacn fathers press their daughters hair with a straight comb at home, they do a real good job.

`I completely agree with sweetgrass41! I'm very glad to meet someone who is so spiritually deep!
I don't consider Native American, nor old Scandinavian as pagans. To be a pagan requires to believe nothing.
Populational genetics researchers classified me as Caucasian. Am I really this I don't know, and it is not important to me at all. My hair is red. So what?
My people believe that affiliation to some nation or population is determined according to your believes, character, tradition. The term Srb (word from old Serbian language) means ONE WHO IS A HUMAN.
Believe or not, our closest neighbors are Christian, and genetically we are almost the same, but they were killed us and persecuted us since Christian church separated into Catholic and Orthodox. Nowadays, they use media to caricature picture of us in all world. This is not scary, nor disturbing to me. Actually, this makes me laugh and sad in a certain way. Why? Because they just blind: we are the same people. Why they are blind: they don't know who they are.
So, be proud of who you are. The most important thing for you is to know your roots, to respect your ancestors, nature... to believe. This kind of behavior is worthy to be respected.
