“WHITE†LIES ©

I speak in no secret tongue of Indian Riddle---

or of bloodlines mixed and caught in the middle.

Instead, I offer a legacy that is now far gone and past,-

and a history of “WHITE†lies taught first, and the RED’S last.

Stories engaged through history by the ancestors,

gave way to the “new world†and European prospectors.

We walked, the long walk and so many of us cried

without food- in rain, in snow,- babies and the old, died.

They pillaged our land and left all NATIONS disgraced

focused on everything they stole, now from our home, WE are misplaced.

Seemingly, held hostage on another NATIONS land

while Futile attempts of civilizing us was the new demand.

Take this land we “give†you! Now grow some food, and be proud!

not much more from “WHITE†lies was ever “given†or even now allowed!

Under imprisonment they the earth for crude and gold

then offered a few acres and said “look around and behold.â€Â

“Ussen is no longer the mighty giver of life that you always speakâ€Â

instead you must take on our belief for all others to you, are deemed meek.

For some this is a different version of history that might be understood

but for all the “WHITE†lies that were taught, I don’t think you could!
