`The idea is wonderful, but when I go out here, dancing, all the 25 year old kiddos are trying to follow my trail and the ones my age, smoke and drink alcohol what is not to my liking. Other problem is, when you see a goodlooking guy, you never know if he is already with someone and trying to cheat, or two spirited and just being kind. The shy ones stay at home or watch others entertaining them through internet. Now tell me....what am I supposed to do to meet a true at heart brother who walks our Red Path ,so far from homeland??????

I understand what you are saying but I wrote this post a little out of frustration.
And no mistake about it they are cheating on-line too.
I have seen whole relationships played out on-line and the people have never met face to face!
Is THIS the wave of the future??..if it is, I am not too sure I am liking it.

`Hmm ...I think it depends on the individual. I have a female friend who has travelled to a lot of countries meeting guys she started relationships with online, in the hope that the internet romance would crossover into real life...none of them have gone beyond the holidays she spent tons of money on!...But it's still her belief that someone is out there for her, and hope springs eternal and all that waffle.

On the other hand I have a female colleague (whom I have zero respect for) who goes out into the 'real-world' once a month to nightclubs and bars with her girlfriends and 'hooks-up' with different guys everytime..Is she lucky? Some might think she is. I'm betting her husband waiting at home wouldn't think so should the poor guy find out.

The point I'm trying to make is that you can't generalise and say get out of the house into the real world coz that doesn't always work out. And you can't hang your hope on meeting someone online either coz that doesn't always work out either.

Frankly the bar and nightclub scene gives me screaming nightmarers! UGHH

Um Tubblemaka..what's a pallet?...Is that like putting a mattress from your bed on the floor? Like indoor camping?

It gives the lesson and teaches us not to believe and not to open ourselves to unfair people. And one the Universe laws is : relationships built on the fraud and tears and pain of others don't last long.

`Thats really true..also what goes around comes around is a pretty reliable law too. All kinds of things people are here for... off line i get a lot of attention-from married men mostly, which I am totally not interested in one bit..yuck. But its a small area with a lot of older people and a lot of stereotyping of single moms..sickening. I frequently get asked about Welfare stuff, although I have worked and supported my kids and I as a Paramedic for years. And on-line I just dont know, Same as off.. I gave up on people for the most part as anything more than friends long ago and this hasn't showed me any different. Judgemental, looking for perfection-although everyone seems far from perfect themselves..married, girlfriends..you name it. Since I am a poor judge of who is unfair..I chose to be 'alone'..and have some really good friends that I can laugh with instead of the happy horsesh*t. That my rant for the night..thank you! LOL

`Well I guess your right. Finding a true relastionship on line is a rare as finding a niddle in a hay stack. I mean you can life with someone all your life and still not know who they are. But I guess I will give up on trying to date. Maybe I will just make friends and have fun. But not that sleep around stuff, it aint safe. I will leave it in GOD's hands if I find that right one. I will never give up on that part though. I know my soul mate is out there only because of the fact I have all this love to give.

`Me, I don't like to do "the usual" dating stuff, like going out to a restaurant or bar, etc. I would much rather just go for a walk in the park, or better yet, a walk in the woods, or something like that...

Or just have a simple little picnic somewhere, or go do something useful, meaningful, and interesting, like pursuing a mutual hobby, doing volunteer work together, or helping one another with some kind of necessary labor.

Now the hardest part is, just finding someone who is able and willing to do those things with me!

I am one of those "shy people" myself, and I often don't feel like I have much of a "connection" with the local people, in the area where I live, so I did used to think the internet might be a good way to find someone. But after 10 years of being on the internet, I must honestly confess, I've never even made a single friend here, much less anything more meaningful! (by a "friend", I mean someone I would also get together with, in real life, from time to time) So I'm about to give up on it, and anyhow, am finding it's a bit too expensive to maintain the computer and internet anymore, may abandon both, altogether, very soon...
