cherokee, just drop the language act. you don't look like you even know anything about the culture. you are a man with short hair and pale skin... im not being bias here...just trying to understand WHERE you are coming from... you don't look like any cherokee i have ever met. Trust me, i have dated a lot of them... i like them because they tend to be fierce.
that's right.. im calling out another person. haha

Go a lil farther out east to N. Carolina and ur bound to meet plenty of Cherokee members of "his" complexion, which is by the way, no paler than your own! An obvious case of "the pot calling the kettle black"...or white...or wutever! I just found ur comment to be a lil...silly. I hope I don't come across as being too fierce...just the cherokee in me.

I thought her comment was justified since this cherokee man is for one implying we all speak "indian", and openingly using traditional pipe smoking as somehow something that he isn't attracted to in another person. I see that as a personal choice yes and a personal belief and he is entitled to that but upon knowing this of this man I would say Humored0ne is justified in questioning him of his lack of culture.
At least that is what I pick up from her words in an indirect sense. I tend to look beyond her usage of words: "you don't look like any cherokee I've ever met". I think given the knoweldge of this mans actions it's understandable that she uses those words. Whether it's offensive or right for her to is something others have to deal with I guess. Shouldn't be too offensive if you can find an understanding behind the usage.

Ok raven you were right. All the talk about spiritual stuff seemed to hint that he wouldn't of been including a pipe but it seems he is. He can deny it but he didn't thus far and this statement leaves me to conclude that you were right Raven.
You thanked me for saying this, thus leaving to to think you were thought he was saying the same thing that I interpretted. The reason why I stated he was indirectly stating cigs is that I thought he was talking about not dating a smoker so I figured "oh ok he must mean cigs" since of course he was reffering to smoke in a spiritual sense.
How is anyone to know he's reffering to what women say when it doesn't say that anywhere in his topic or post? Kind of hard to interprit meaning out of his 2-3 word usage. If there were body langauge and tone of voice involved I could easily do that.

`I don't believe anyone is justified to attack others because of the color of their skin, length of hair etc. That was uncalled for. She does not walk his path and knows nothing about the man..We just need to turn the page and get on with other things..

`For what it's worth, I feel attacking people for the color of their skin is much more ugly than an entire pack of cigarrette smoke in someones face could ever be. I don't feel it is EVER justified...look at what doing that has done to people throughout the centuries.

Osiyo, just one year away from this site and war is on, sisters??? True, not everyone speaks the same tongue, specialy since our hearts have forgotten the common tongue. May all your days be blessed and Great Spirit guide you to find balance from inside and a path full of warm love, deep peace, much joy and beauty.

`hehehehehehehe I'm so glad I could amuse you all in such a way that you would keep up a dead conversation just for the sake of being angry at something.
I actually was just questioning his authenticity. I mean seriously... asking us if we speak indian and using the tongue that he spoke as though everyone should know it.
I may be too blunt. I may be ugly at times but like I said, if there was a hint of truth in what I say, then point verified.
You have fun arguing among yourselves about what I said. *wink* I'm out. This site is full of fakes. I am tired of the war.

Funny? =\
My interpretation was on par and then bent backwords, not funny if you ask me.
I'd also like to say even though humored0ne used the wrong words I can be one to understand why, being as I've much experience around people that say those kinds of things all the time. Ever been deep into a large all native family? We are quite commonly used to hearing such things. They really don't bother us but most times the way many native people talk is usually changed to show respect if they are in a public place where people might be offended. You can see how easy it is to forget that over the internet. I guess it all depends on where you come from but that's what I've experienced here in minnesota and south dakota.

`Johnmarlon, I have nothing but respect for you and your opinion. This did make me bristle a bit at first..until I gave it a little thought. I don't have the privlege of coming from an ALL native family..but I would never talk on this site the way I do with my relatives at all..it's the internet. But also can you appreciate the sensitive nature of this subject because we are on a public site. You are lucky..you have probably never had your identity so questioned as some of us here seeing that you are a full-blood...except for the occasional name calling, I assume since we've all been called something in this life at one time or another..Anyway, if you're mixed you are not "native enough" for some (a lot) of the native american community, but then the whites don't fully accept you either..especially if you look "ethnic" at all. I wont even repeat here some of the things I have heard in this small town. So please understand that this commumity here has people from all different kinds of experiences. I have stuck my foot in my mouth on this site..lord knows(figure of speech) more than once. But I would hope that HumoredOne comes back sometime as she does fill a niche.
