Have to say Blackfootedgirl, I've had my share of being over serious for a while. In response to your original question, I think to keep dialogue going...people need to feel comfortable and free to express themselves in whatever way is natural to them. Everything should be allowed apart from blatent disrespect, name calling/swearing and being condecending.
Lets face it ... most of the people on this site either don't read the forum at all or they will always rather read it than write it. We are just a bit of entertainment for those that do... if they really want to go public they will.
If some of us want to just clown around, on another page, with talk that seems like dribble to some ...I really don't think most people care.
I'ts not called comic RELIEF for nothing ... Laughter and not taking it all too seriously all the time can also be good for the spirit I think.

Now you say one of us has spoken too soon? Which one are you referring too?? This is just more word play and I'm not here to discuss personal issues or my political beliefs. If you want to talk politics go to a political site. If you want to talk about abuse go to abuse site.. What exactly do you want from us??This is not that kind of site. Most people are just looking for another person of the opposite s--..
I am not here for any ones entertainment to talk about issues so long ago.

Those are your feelings and entitled to them, but I am not talking down to you,and why are you so quick to anger?
It is that everyone is off the subject of this forum thread.Read the Yellowhair thread
it was full of inflammatory dialog, but what happened after my post?

I can't think of one dating site that does not have a forum that has a wide range of subject matter.People are as varied as the subjects that are listed.

huggeroftrees asks, What exactly do you want from us?? The answer is at the very top of the thread in the first question.
This forum topic is about nothing huggeroftrees has listed in her response ,this thread is about discussing various subject matter that can touch on nerves, while keeping the dialog open, authentic and without name calling and disrespectful words. I put the question out there but no one will offer a direct answer with out clouding it in other subject matter.

This is why members will not join in on the Forums, but yet many forum writers complain about the lack of participation.

You have come the closest with your response, but I feel the readership is in three parts, those who read for entertainment, Those who read and participate and those who read ,want to participate but are a bit fearful of being verbally torn to bits.
I agree Laughter is good for the soul and there are some excellent jokes in the forum too, one member is good competition for Sherman Alexie.

But there is also a lot of work to be done.

`I am taken back to that you are trying to take credit...as if people never get over thier "crap" with out your help?

In these forums you put something out there..then it takes a life of it's own. That is just the way it is....you can't CONTROL that here. Look at the hx. in the discussion forum..GENERALdiscussion. It's personal because I can on speak from my own perspective.

`huggeroftrees your post is a prime example of what we are trying to avoid to keep dialog open and to talk to each other with civility.

I can't take credit for anything other than what I wrote in the Yellowhair thread. How everyone reacted to it is their responsibility to own,but attitudes seemed to change.

huggeroftrees why do you react in such anger ? Also there is a high percentage of your posts that you have deleted. I am at a loss as to why you would write something you would not stand up for in the future and own, good or bad?

The only thing I am taking credit for is what I wrote, Attitudes seemed to changed afterwards , reactions other than my own are the responsibility of that person not myself. For every action there is a reaction,it can be as simple as not saying anything or a caps lock rant.

People have failed to think outside the box.

We can move on from here then to the subject at hand. How to keep dialog open while treating each other with civility whether we agree or disagree.

`I was already over it by the time I read your post.

And I can only speak for myself but I sure didnt come on this site to argue with a bunch of women. I respect women.

But if people are going to speak freely they cannot to it in an atmosphere where they feel controlled or judged. Male or female.
And I personally don't feel like it matters here because I don't feel like people are going to write anyway in here other than the ones that already do.

Comminication on-line is very limited. We are missing a lot of what makes up communication...and then bits and peices are picked apart to death and the spirit of the message is lost.

This is only my opinion..I feel right now it's just a drain.

`Cami you' re right and we both have been over it. We turned the page and moved on, but some people just want to see who they can make angry.

WELL AS FAR AS CAPS GO I USE THEM WHEN I FEEL THE OTHER PERSON ISN'T ABLE TO UNDERSTAND SMALL PRINT SO I TRY TO GET IT BIG ENOUGH FOR YOU TO SEE...
I ONLY HAVE ONE MORE THING TO SAY ABOUT WANTING TO KEEP THIS GOING.. LISTEN UP ONLY GOING TO SAY THIS ONCE..

The type of language used is totally inappropriate and will not be tolerated. No matter how angry members get, they are not allowed to use language like this in the forums.

`We really never got to the "spirit of the message".
As far as bits and pieces of the communication being picked apart that is what a discussion is all about.

There are others out there who will slowly show up to contribute.

`The problem with people like myelf is...I get tired of explaining every little thing that gets picked apart. And the message does get lost in that.

And I have sat back and watched people attempt to contribute and end up with a big fat ZERO in the "reply" section.

(deleted).. I can't do that again at this point in the forum..I was drained and spent..and now just want to be able to have some ease with those I do communicate with.

I don't see that will be possible in the forums at this point in time. My own opinion anyway for whats its worth.

Cami/Plainsgirl/Chumani67

p/s: Remember what happened to Clevercherokee for attempting a little humor with his we should all go smoke a peace pipe...he got ripped apart!

`There is a difference between a discussion where there are different personalities with different views, opinions and experiences and a relationship between two people. The similarities are is that there is much to learn from each.

As for the ZERO in the reply box, the question was put out there and the question was not answered, it is as simple as that.
