Have you noticed that a lot of peoples head lines sound like wanted ads from the pennysaver?! They actually sound like some kind of stud service ad! I'm not dissing anyone I just think it's funny! "Long haired man only" or "Native man wanted" or "must have green eyes" well alrighty then!

The preference towards natives doesn't bother me, as long as it's one native to another. I guess it's ok if someone is looking for a native partner but to restrict themselves to that is a bit strange if they aren't native. I've seen many non-natives who participate in ceremonies and are good people. Why would a person of the same racial background take such a traditional person off there list?

`I agree, and peoples tastes vary. But I feel it is pretty important to be attracted to the person one is with. I know a lot of very nice men. Dosen't mean I would want to go out with them as a partner type of situation though.

And I suppose I am specific in my own way...I could never see myself with a guy who wears, like, dippity-do in his hair (hard gel), or had manicured nails, or who wore polo type shirts, just cant do it. But I wouldn't rule someone out with purple hair and black nail polish I guess. to each thier own.

`Scientifically the way it works is that when your a child you memorise traits that you like ( ex: blue eyes, small lips, etc...) and you get reassured.

When you get older many factors take part in what we call a taste :

1-What you memorise as a kid as being a pleasant feature
2-The pheromones ( That can be felt in many ways by both sexes)
3- The body odor....every person has its good or bad opinions about odors, because we don't percieve it the same way neither have the same reactions to it. To some people another person's odor might be ordinary but to another one it might create a s----l reaction and therefore lead to feelings.

By s----l reaction leading to a feeling I don't mean you have S-- then you fall in love... Actually at the base of the feelings ( as per Freud) there's the libido, which is the basic s----l instinct that leads our choises towards some persons.

That was my scientific minute heheh!

But all this to say that, yes we all have different tastes and with reason. But to precise that you want a guy with long hair or with black nail polish, you stop yourself from meeting someone. Let's say that you actually give a chance to that guy that wears polos and has gel in his hair, let's say that he's this good guy that can do concessions for you and wants you to find him attractive, maybe he will take off his hair gel and stuff...

What I mean by that is if you take a look around you, generally in couples the style changes for both of the persons. Why? Because when you love you want the person that is next to you to find you attractive, that's why some men will let their hair grow, some woman would lose weight, some will take off the gel, some will be more feminine and etc...

Don't stop yourself from meeting interesting people with some already concieved ideas, more than 70% of them will change style in less than 1 year by being in couple to adapt the other.

Some might answer: Oh when I'm in love I won't change for the other, the guy/girl has to love me the way I am or he/she isn't good enough for me.

Ummm good point, except that when you are actually in love, instinctivly you want that other person to find you attractive, and you do small things and in the end you realise that your style changed lol.
