man has always theorized the origin of the Human Beings. but is Diyin' that put us here for a reason & only Diyin' knows the reason. for some, all that is coming out of this discussion is disrespect for each other. to speculate on book theories, since they are written by man, we will never get the answer. the answer will come when you learn to listen to the breath of Diyin'. it is the wind spirit that flows freely all around us & it knows where to find us. you must be found because you cannot find it & that includes books & science.

`Here's an interesting fact about science....It's always proving itself wrong! i was skeptical about the land bridge thing in the first place, I always thought it sounded far=fetched. How does science explain the Austrailian aboriginal people, kind of hard to find a land bridge there.

`I always thought science to be as cold and *nalytical as a scalpel. I made a painting about that. Science is the actual religion of western culture. I have found, through my own experience, that scientific thought requires a mindset that cuts you off from real communion with Life. I have experienced real communion with life, other living beings...and I could only do this whenever i was willing to drop that *nalytical mindset. It's a mindset that says; Oh, it's only a tree, or it's only a bug....and eventually....oh, it's only a Jew, or it's only an Indian. The religion of science is a mystery killer, just as consumerism is a culture killer.

`God, I hope you all read this, because THIS is REALLY going to make you laugh. Here's the VERY FIRST line about Irish history (my ancestors) from Wikipedia!

"The first known settlement in Ireland began around 8000 BC, when hunter-gatherers arrived from continental Europe, probably via a land bridge."

PostPosted:     Post subject: Not All Indian Tribes Came out from Siberia/Asia
Reply with quote
`I remember reading a book that was written by a Sioux. He remembered growing up hearing the traditional story from his ancestors about where their ancestors came from. The elders explained that their ancestors were from the east where they used to live on the big island land that later went under the water.

The author visited other sioux sister tribes & discovered that the story was also the same. There are sioux speaking tribes from South Carolina all the way to Montana & Canada. Pretty big country.

In Virginia, Manacan tribe spoke an eastern Sioux language. So did the Saponi and Catawba tribes in North Carolina. Chicora tribe in South Carolina also spoke an eastern Sioux dialect.

These east coast sioux speaking tribes also have the same story about their ancestors being from the east where there used to be a big island land that later went under the water. They pointed their fingers to the east directin (atlantic ocean) where their ancestors came from.

The author eventually discovered that the island land was actually Atlantis islands. It used to be a trading center according to Roman & Egyptian traditions. They even have an antique map showing the map of Atlantis Islands (located between America and England).

So the point is that the Sioux people did not cross the frozen ocean from Siberia to Alaska. Sioux people are genetically tall and big people and asians are mostly smaller and shorter. There is no genetic connection between these vastly different groups.

Sioux people have more in common with ancient European people who were also said to be giants which Roman army officers wrote in their reports.

Only the Algonquin speaking tribes have ancestors who did come out of Siberia to enter Alaska. Their migration tradition was etched into a wooden slab, the traditional method for storytelling.

In fact, the Lenni Lenape people's chief did ask alaska tribes for permission to enter & pass through their lands to go further east & south. They were said to be spiritual people.

They are Lenape Lenni people who left Siberia & flourished into America all the way to Delaware, New Jersey, and Virginia. The Sioux people were here in America much longer than the Algonquin people (for example, the Algonquin people are the sister tribes related by the same mother tongue: Blackfeet, Cree, Chippewa, Cheyenne , Miwok of Calif and Kickapoo of Texas).

The point is, not all american native tribes came out of Siberia. Tribes came from all directions. But just the same, it is still very rude for white men to think they can walk into the homes of the native tribes & kick them out & take their lands to use for themselves. Very disrespectful. White men need an important lesson to learn about the meaning of respect & the importance of treating natives as real human beings with utmost respect.

The Hopi tribe also has a migration tradition. Their elders said that they came from the far south. For example, one of their clans is still called "Parrot Bird". They were from the land where there were many parrot birds. All tribes have migration traditions. Thanks!

Thanks to ravendarque for his synopsis of a plausible idea about the origin of Native American people.

I also like piecrust's contribution.

What I wonder about is where the unique culture came from -
totally unlike any other I find, both worldwide and history deep,
yet broadly similar throughout North America.

So far, arrival by mass teleportation from another universe looks about the most plausible possibility.

But I have the rare freedom of not being a Materialist,
so, for me, all sorts of possibilities have not been truncated
by the absurd religion that hijacked Science. Rasberry.

Har Har. Living in the Beyond is so much more interesting. 8)

`I don't want to ruffle any feathers here, but we all came from africa. The whole entire human race can be traced back to africa. But to answer your questions, no native americans are not asians. We may have once been related, but that's it. Over time, as individuals began the process of natural selection for mating partners, they eventually closed all gaps and formed new races. New races means new cultures, heritages, origins, and so forth.

`finding answers in science is okay if one believes in the new religion of science. it's always changing according to who is funding or conducting the studies. Asians are Asians, and Native Americans are Native Americans, and i am not African.
i wish people would stop trying to condense everything down into a common denominator for all to fit in, and just let people move and breathe being who they are.

although i know i have known quite a few who were DEFINATELY teletransported from another planet

Scientists, and I use the word as loosely as possible, are committed to the view that Indians migrated to this country over an imaginary Bering Straits bridge, which comes and goes at the convenience of the scholar requiring it to complete his or her theory. Initially, at least, Indians are homogenous. But there are also eight major language families within the western Hemisphere, indication to some scholars that if Indians followed the trend that can be identified in other continents, then the migration went from east to west; tourists along the Bering Straits were going To Asia, not FROM it. Just another thought.

`science falls into two categories, and sometimes odd mixtures of the two...true science looks at all the facts and puts them all together, and sees if the theories can be proven, then repeated...if it can be proven then repeated, then it is no longer just a theory...

fake science, or the socially acceptable science we see in most books, where theories abound, has to do with who is popular mainly, not what is really true...fake science never moves past the theory stage and into the actual work stage...it just collects the data and sees how it can fit the pieces together, and if its popular or if they need to impress someone, they will bend the data to fit their own agenda...

the beauty of DNA is that it doesnt know what is popular, it has its own tale, and that tale can tell us much about where we all came from, and like it or not here was many migrations and even cross migrations between ancient peoples...nobody can say they are 100% pure anything, even if the majority of their genes weigh in on one group or the other, down the line we all have some surprises...and those DNA tracks can be traced all over the world in most cases...

is it really important to know where we all came from? in the sense that it can relate to the earth sure, but as far as anything else goes, whether for prestige or power...its not really important...we all are born, live, breathe, bleed, and eventually have to leave this life...all the trappings mean nothing if you cant relate to the earth properly, or the people around you...so balance is the key word...and native cultures still hold that key, unlike the modernized cultures of the world...

The irony of this discussion is that a close friend who is 'Black-Native Indian' told me this very same thing that Native Indians genealogy stems from the Asian culture...this was told to me several months ago and now to see this post it definitely caught my attention.

For me this now sparks a greater level of interest and in researching further. It is too bad the young man who post this has now left the site. Regardless whose right or wrong it is evident that additional research is needed. The energy that I get from what I've read from is FEAR based. Nothing gets accomplished when anger takes precedence over LOVE. Love for self & most important love for ALL.

Why do we remain in a world where one's ethnicity matters. Then what have we all learned from prejudice & bias ignorance? The problem that faces many people in our world ALL ethnicity is that most do not have the ability to HEAR what is actually being said because we are govern by 'impulse to lash out' rather than come together as ONE. In the end what does it matter as I AM YOU & YOU ARE ME in the sense we all want & thrive on this earth to have the same. Safety for our children & love of ALL. As our world cannot continue to co-exist as SEPARATE entities.

In circumstance of fathom, war, and devastation when you look around what does it matter your color or my own? As now we're all the same one color....RED for the blood shed upon us ALL.

We must learn there is only but one color...the color of the Rainbow. We must continue to take a stand & be what the Native Indians stand for as an nation ' Rainbow Warriors' for ALL mankind.

People there is a greater plight amongst us. Our banking systems are collapsing over greed & power. Our government is losing control of the people. People are AWAKENING each & everyday to realize the truth...we must ALL stand proud as RAINBOW WARRIORS in order for our world to continue to 'THRIVE 2011'.

I am a proud human being period! Regardless of my nationality (and yes, I am Jamaican-Cubana-Indian) but I have LOVE of SELF first. I love each & everyone of you but we must EDUCATE the WRONGS first. Remove the EGO & self sabotage & lets heal "Mother/Father Gaia".

Raven. I felt nothing but energy from you and thank you for sharing. I do not sense your heart was in the wrong.

To recapitulate. Isn't it time we stop with violence? Hasn't enough people, race suffered enough? Anger begots Anger but there is POWER in Unity & LOVE.

Namaste. I am 'Awakened1'

I have a friend who's half Hopi and half Dutch, but I have to say I've never heard him speak it. My best friend is Dine and it certainly doesn't sound the least Asian. Some elements of German and Scots Gaelic (the sounds made at the back of the throat), though.

This sounds racist, but it's really happened: I've had Asians try to figure out what I'm saying and look really confused when I've answered my cell phone in Mvskoke when I'm in the nail salon. If all you hear is, "Hello! How are you?," in Mvskoke, it doesn't sound NA at all.

That said, I've studied a lot on Southeast tribes in general and there is oral history saying we came over here from southern Siberia----but keep in mind the same oral history says we've been in the Southeast (of what is now the USA) since there were sabertooth tigers there as well.

I think, having been that long, those "modernly" (since the time of Christ) considered Asian are different altogether from Native Americans.

There is a video on youtube (I think it's still up) on the Ket people of southern Siberia who have been totally isolated until just in the last 5-6 yrs, but now Russian culture is encroaching on them and the researcher in the video wanted to try to document as much as possible while their culture and language was still largely pre-contact. The Ket are not genetically Asia at all (like, if you had a DNA test done).

I know my DNA test showed no Asian at all, but did show Native American.
