Well we all know that you dont want liars.. Cheaters... Abusers... Beer drinkers... Broke asses... And looking for a long hair native brother... Or a sexy fine slim asses native woman.... Blah blah blah.... What freakin' ever. Have you ever thought about looking into your next possible inlaws. Really take a look who will be your inlaws. Are they into rodeos? NAC members? Dirty drummers? Bootleggers? Are their children all into video games? Or do they look Emo (WTFF!) do they live in a home where you might have to sleep on the couch? Are you a soical butterfly or are you the one who sits on your --- on the couch? And answers to a question with a "HUH?" Or r u the one who stays in the bedroom all weekend?

Come on people! I've seen it all. What is it that you really freakin' want?

`It should be important to everyone. No one should have to live in abuse. I never have understood women ( or men) allowing someone to hurt them ( except of course playfully . A pop on the butt is one thing, and can be fun, but when the person you think loves you starts hitting you out of anger, it is time to reassess what love is...and time to bail..

`Do people realize how ignorant they sound when they say things like "I guess they like getting abused". That crap needs to stop. No one likes to be abused. It happens. There are bad people out there who do bad things to good people and it happened to me. Anyway, to answer your question, some things that I look for in a mate...to be honest, I don't really know because I've only dated 2 people. One guy in high school who dumped me because I wouldn't do it with him, another guy when I was 18 who I was trapped with for 3 years who never allowed me to learn about myself or others. All in all, having been through a rough time, I guess the first things that comes to my mind is that I'd be happy to meet someone who was kind hearted. The rest will come later. Good question.

`With all do respect, g
eydhalfbreed, I have to disagree with you here.....there actually are those that enjoy being abused.
And generalizations are just that......generalizations.

`Unless it's some sort of freakish --- ------ where people like getting whipped and spanked and all kinds of crazy, please give me an example where certain people in a commonality like to be abused. I'm curious to know. I've never talked to a woman who just got a black eye from her boyfriend who said "You know....he socked me really good last night. It was awesome! I wish and hope he does it again! Maybe next time he'll bust my lip."

`fetishism aside, there are people into drama, people into emotional upheaval and people into abuse. In fact, some are unable to find happiness without the insanity. Perhaps it happens sometimes because people just don't know any better, or they've become too broken. Perhaps it is because of some sort of sado-masochistic tendencies or a line of thinking in which they cannot compute love without a strong fist to back it.
I have known someone for many many years that carries bruises all the time and wears them like badges. Telling myself and others from where each one came. Not in the bedroom, but in the heat of the moment that this person provokes and urges on most often and welcomes. Not only is the act of being hit, bit, tossed about enjoyable for this individual but also the occasional "bonding" of sorts that comes after as the other person then turns to more verbal displays of affection...."romantic" type behavior. It's a cycle for them and one they are both happy in. They both play their parts and that is how they function. They have been together for somewhere around 18 years. Or at least....that is how long I have known them.
All walks, my friend.....there are all walks.

I used to have a long list of what I was looking for then after searching I've come to find what I hope for is quite simple. I'm looking for someone to take a chance on me as I will with that person.

I guess I don't have the patience to serial date or come up with clever words or hide behind illusions of grandeur. All I have is my spirituality, honor for my elders, my skills of communication, respect and self respect, my humor, and honesty. If these virtues are not enough then I am single for the right reasons.

I hope others feel the same. Mvto.

`Right on, Greaten Enchantress!

I"m happy alone, live and peace and respect myself. If on one can amilorate this situation I do not see why I'd share paths with them. Life is simple, if you wish.

As for the violent relationships previously mentioned, I call it the beaten dog syndrôme. I know people I love (sisters and friends) caught in bad relationships. They love eachother, but it's not "good" love. Bad love = when you harm eachother. Good love = when you help each other, you raise levels, together. Both are real forms of love. A dog loves his master, no matter how hard the master beats him. If someday the master arrives and is too tired or ill to beat his dog up, the dog will ask himself what is wrong, why didn't the man beat him up. So a victim of violence does not enjoy being violated, they don't ask for it either. I see it more like they haven't known anything different and therefore take it for normal that they deserve a beating. Even if they do not know why they should be harmed, they will automatically invent an excuse to make them believe they deserve it. It's the beaten dog syndrôme, and sadly enough, I haven't found a way to stop this vicious circle.. I just wait for them to open their eyes. If anyone has ideas or suggestion, don't be shy to share them with me.

But none the less, I like someone who plays tricks and laughs when played tricks on.. Geez, laughter is the best thing after sunrises. Someone who can survive in the woods. Debrouillard, like we say in french, someone who is "handy" and can solve problems. Someone who likes massages (some people don't like being touched), good food (no deep frying) and doesn't mind falling in the mud hahaha
