I highly recommend Dreamkeeper. I enjoyed it very much. It is a perfect blend of Native American myths and modern res life.

The myths I already knew from reading my book Native American Myths and Legends. The movie actually stayed close to the book in the telling of the myths.

I gifted my copy of Dreamkeeper to a Cherokee friend of mine who fell in love with the movie.

I wish there were a lot more movies made by Native Americans about Native Americans.

I also wish Native American music was in the main stream of music available. It is the most lovely music.

I love the song Indian Car. It did so remind me of a car I had.

Buddy Red Bow is my favorite singer.

Red Thunder is my favorite group

What are your favorite movies and music groups?

I would also. I saw that movie when it first came out on T.V., and loved every minute of it It was a very beautiful movie, with wonderful characters. I actually wish I owned it, but it seems pretty hard to find. I too wish that there were more movies made by Native Americans with Native Americans as the cast as well. Sadly there are just too few. It would be very cool if Native american music was in the mainstream. It is beautiful.

Dreamkeeper can be bought through Columbiahouse.com. That is where I bought my copy. It is $14.95. You have to join the dvd club though.

I have been a member for years and love it.

Having the book of Native American Myths and Legends to go along with the movie increases the wonderment of watching it. The movie is very close to what is in the book.

Just got through rereading it again. It is one of the books that I treasure. It is so fun to read.

Contents
Tales of Human Creation
Tales of World Creation
Tales of Sun, Moon and Stars
Monsters and Monster Slayers
Counting Coup, War and Warrior Code
Tales of Love and ----
Coyote Laughs and Cries: Trickster Tales
Stories of Animals and Other People
Ghosts and the Spirit World
Visions of the End

These are the main sections of the book. There are stories from all tribes in each section. There are 525 pages in it.

I have only found a handful of movies made by Native Americans with Native Americans starring in them.

There is a radio station on the internet that has Native American music only. My sister listens to it all the time. I cant get it to work for me. I will have my son set it up. He is the computer whiz in the family. Probably why I am not. It is just so much easier to tell Jed do something with it! Giggle.

It has been a pleasure talking to you.

`Hello,
The movie is quite difficult to find in France, it is no longuer released.
I found it at last in second-hand buy on the net, but not cheap at all ...

I saw the movie and I'm very happy because it worth the price.

The stories of the elder, the grand father Old Pete Chasing Horse, are beautifull and very interesting, I never heard them before, a great moment !
