We cant control who we fall in love with. And since there are not many native men in the world, let alone full-blooded, it is more common to mix with other cultures.

Now, has anyone seen the movie Dance Me Under the Moon? I saw it a long time ago and don't remember all of the names and details but there was a native woman who was married to a white guy, and they wanted to have kids, however by doing that the native blood was at risk of thinning through generations and eventually die out.

So, there was a "sex" scene. Except is was not with her husband. She had S-- with other native in her town however it was not because of attraction, it ws not for the pleasure, and it was not for love. It was for the sole purpose of reproduction and they display this purpose very strongly in the movie.

This got me thinking about many things. But I know this is definatly adultery no matter what the reason behind the act is. And I am curently with a white mexican and marriage and family have of coarse came up in conversation. I love him and have no interest in cheating on him but I just see how small the native percentage is and I wish to help change that.

So I just want to see everyone else viewpoints, skins and non natives, what do you think about mixing and the dillema and concern for keeping our culture, our ways, and our blood alive?

`The movie you are talking about kind of sounds like Dance Me Outside, as there is a scene similar to the one you are describing. Only thing is that the reason why this woman was doing it with a Native guy (who was her ex) was because her white husband was not able to impregnate her for whatever reason.

I think that this choice of whether or not to marry someone within your own race is a personal choice. And regardless, I dont think its fair to judge those who do choose to marry outside their race. I think what matters most is how both people connect to each other from deep within themselves. Because there, in that sacred space, is no race. Therefore, their chances of finding someone right for themselves is higher than those who choose to find that with someone from their own race.

I know that when I am in love with someone, the race of my partner does not matter to me at all. In fact, it does not even register with me. But I respect those who choose to stay within their race or tribe, I just dont agree with it.

And being in a relationship with someone includes respect for another. So if I am with someone who is not from my race, part of that decision will be because she respects my culture and traditions. And I will naturally do the same for her, too. I think this has to be settled from the beginning.

I used to be with a non-Native woman, and in the beginning she respected my culture and beliefs, and such. However, in time, she changed and not for the better. And part of that change was she stopped respecting my beliefs. But that is just one of many reasons why we are no longer together.

I just think that as long as you are truly in love with someone, you should make sure you are with someone who respects everything about you, including your beliefs, and that you do the same for that person, as well.

Or something like that
