Being old-fashioned...Is it something that's obsolete or is there any validity in being this way? I remember that there used to be a time when this character trait was acceptable. The opening of the door for a woman; the giving of your coat when a woman feels the chill in the air; pushing in her chair at the dinner table or even when she comes to the table--every male sitting at the table stands up--acknowledging her presence; that's just a few instances.
I was raised in a different era. I was raised to respect women and not to disrespect them or to even to make them feel less than human. Because my thinking is like this it has often put me at odds with others who feel that my being old-fashioned is antiquated. I know that I'm different. I know that I don't fit but I can't and won't stop being who I am. To stop would be a crime.
I believe in treating women in the way that they wish to be treated--with dignity, respect, honor and honesty. I understand the purpose with which the woman was created--she is to be undertsood and cherished--not abused.

`You think right and you do right. I believe that every woman who love herself would like to have a man right beside her like you are!!! Don't know any woman in Latvia who wouldn't like that she was treated like you do! Keep staying the way you are! And I wish there would be other men who would learn from you how has to be done these thing...

`I just hafta tell of an experience regarding "Old Fashioned". I dated a man who claimed he was "Old Fashioned", his version of "Old Fashioned" was telling me not to wear any kind of attire that drew any attention to myself, not going anywhere without his knowledge, even went as far as said if another MALE were to ride in my vehicle that that was cheating. I quickly learned be wary of those who claim to be old fashioned versus the ones who are insecure and want to control.
I have no problem with a man opening my door for me, but Iam also an equality kinda gal. If you do it for me, or to me, then you can also expect it returned. I believe in reciprocation.
