Real Red Power includes voting. This is a real soapbox issue for me. Just this past week, the Spirit Lake Nation in ND won a court decision to force the Benson County Board to put a polling place on the Spirit Lake Reservation. They had refused, even after the Spirit Lake Tribal Council volunteered space & a trained staff for it! But hey, there's no racism in this country.. Hah!
If you've read the comments on Yahoo & in the papers across the country since Mr. Obama & his people were elected, you know how blatant racism has once again become. For that matter, bigotry of every kind.
The nasties are planning to "retake" the country this election - this coming Tuesday November 2 - and turn the clock back to the bad old days of "W", d--- Cheney, & Karl Rove.
If we all get out there and VOTE THIS TUESDAY, they stand a far poorer chance of doing that. So this grandmother urges you in the strongest possible terms - GET OUT & VOTE THIS TUESDAY, & SHOW REAL RED POWER. You can't be heard if you don't speak out - & voting is a way of speaking out. Mitakuye oiasin - All {are} my relatives.

`This year marks the first time since I became voting age that I was so weighed down by the prospect, so discouraged with that feeling of drowning in subterfuge.........
But now is not the time to lose heart and as Abby Zimet highlighted in sharing this quote on www.commondreams.com: Conceding he wishes we had "broader options," Dennis Kucinich nonetheless urged progressives to vote next week or "let the forces of nihilism take over." He has a point.
i agree
