I think the previous post is simply halarious!!

Anyway, about stereotypes and Native men..I really feel that Native men could totally stand on thier own as intelligent, creative, funny, whatever..without having to be the wise old sage..or having thier presence validated on screen by Kevin Costner, Nicholas Cage, or the others if given the chance.

`There are plenty of physically attractive Native men out there. However, the one's I've met are not on the same page as me, solely because they put entirely too much focus on sex, and not enough energy into spirituality.

There has to be a balance. What the hell do you do once the --- gets old, because if that's all your relationship is based on, it WILL get old eventually. An ------ really isn't worth wasting weeks or months of another person's time to me, only to find out you really don't have much else in common, other than little mundane things like movies, books, or t.v. shows.

I've had far too many of those learning experiences.

Is their anyone who is from the Uk who is also into Native men and can anyone tell me where the best place to look on the internet for dating such natives as its like looking for a needle in a haystack. Cheers! Running Fox.

Hey Running Fox, I think I meet all of your requirements. Most days I probably have the brooding Uncas look, too. However I already have six wives, so you're SOL.

Yours truly,

Noah (A.K.A. Chief Sings In The Shower)

Sorry, couldn't resist.

You make me laught so much! Was very nice.

I think all Native American man are so good looking as Eric Schweig, each one with their individual good looking style. You only have to look at their heart and personality, they are so charming

But if I would be a Native American man, I wouldnt look after a woman that reduce me that way. But I think they know thier worth

Yes you do, or? ;-)

`English teenagers..... They can be so superficial at times.... Might as well be any western teenager, but having lived in the UK, I think that I want to stress the "English" part.

Anyway, so about the stereotype... Don't know if it comes from the Kevin Costner and Daniel Day Lewis movies, or it is waaaay older, but indeed it IS THERE.

And I mean it is there, probably for all western people that have been infused in the holywood film culture. All the way back to the black and white westerns, which I enjoy, to the modern films, to that "Into the wild" series which I still find amazing.

If you ask me, I would be after several stereotypes... So since we are talking about imaginary men, I might as well contribute to the discussion....

So male population of the universe, please be aware that I am looking for the following characters :

1. The gorgeous native American warriors as are presented in the forementioned films, and basically any film I have seen... Especially if they are about to steal some whilte woman, who will later on fall in love with the son of the chief or some other important person of the tribe Please note: If you are casting for this role, make sure your teepee is extra warm otherwise I might freeze to death. Have an airconditioning system maybe for instant head???? Give it a thought

2.The barbarian Vikings as portrayed in other relative films, with that casting of the wonderfull tall as a mountain, and rock strong blond people with long hair and beards, wearing lots of animal skins. Essential accessory : An axe and a horned helmet.

3.The wild proto-Celtic tribes, painting their faces blue and wearing kilts with nothing underneath. (nice idea, it should be widely spread I reckon)

4. The classy Greeks, with their beirds as well and the long white gowns, wearing olive branch wreaths on their heads and talking smart. Of great importance : You must have read all the classic Greek and Roman literature, so that you know what you are talking about.

5. The fierceless Roman legionaries with all that metalic thorax that shows off their marvelous six pack. Important aspect you must look like that guy in the Gladiator and have a soft spot so that I can get through that tough external side of yours.

Then lets move on to more recent times.....
6. The medieval kings, in any period movie/series, with their pale white skin, dressed in lush. Clarification : The young and beautifl ones, not the old ones....

7. The renescance noble men, bearing rapier swords and protecting their ladies, while taking long walks simply while he recites to me quotes from the book he holds in his hand. They have long-ish hair and are usualy clean shaven, while wearing scarves wrapped around their necks.
Extremely important aspect: Touching my hand would be a major milestone in our "relationship" and he would have waited to marry me in order to even think about "making romanticly love to me".

8. Any character in a vampire related film. Both hunters and vampires.... Especially the vampires that through the passing of the aeons have managed to accumulate education-knowledge and nice things (smart clothes, good wines, retro cars and such) so they have an impact on you by arriving in a 40's mustang while talking about artists in 19th century, and know how to dance foxtrot at the same time. Of course this is the stereotype of the classy-intellectual vampire, not the blood sucking beast vampire For your reference research fluffy series as the "Vampire Diaries".

9. Any film character played by Johnny Depp, especialy if the character is gypsy, pirate, alcoholic drunk, runaway, outlaw and so on.

Along with these men, let us not forget of the magnificent other stsreotypical male figures, Poppey the sailor man, Lucky Luke and the Daltons, Tin-Tin, Erlik the Viking, Donald Duck, Asterix and Obelix, Beavies and Butthead, Goliath from the Gargoyles (I really was in love with him when I was 10), the mutant ninja turtles and especialy Leonardo, the 3 little pigs, the prince in Cinderella oh and Snow-white, and the wolf in the red ridding-hood.

So.... you get the idea.... Film stereotypes are grrrrrreat... they all get me in such a love mood that I would practically jump on any male I would happen to be watching the movie with. But they are just that: FIctional characters.....

Past is dust, and this is why all people are doomed to reminisce on it.
All of us are compelled to think of it in a very romantic way.

Truth is the medieval times really sucked, and it was really hard to live then and there.

In the ancient times we had more chances to be slaves than free men, and also the span of life was like 40 years.

And well the native American life, was not what we think it was, most of the time....

So many tribes, and so many diffrent ways....

But yes in the end, if you call out the word "Indian" to me, what comes to my mind is a well built man with long hair in braids along the sides, a feather stick in his hair, being naked from his waist up, wearing leather pants and mocasines, being relatevely hairless on his body and his face (how did they do that actually? I still find it so sexy and striking ) riding a horse, being fast like the wind, and silent as a cat, living in a teepee and knowing to trace people and animals, knowing his way around nature....

Oh.... I love the way the Indian eyes are formed, quite angular on the outer side... and I love how they usually have full lips.

So yes, if you present me a man driving a pick-up, wearing a cowboy hat, with short hair, dressed in jeans and a t-shirt... probably this is not what my mental idea of an Indian is, but this is a still pretty valid Indian.

It is just that we Europeans live so far away from you, you have never been a part of our lives really, there are no neighbouring reservations.... We are often having hard time to remember that Natives are nations with past, PRESENT and FUTURE.

We dwell a lot in the past, and we are more or less ignorant about the present.

I would love to learn a lot on the present of the natives. I have seen lots of documentaries on youtube about reservation life, and the hardship that most tribes have to go through to this day.

I understand that through systemized "education" in those horrible Carlisle schools a lot of natives have lost their language, their ways, their identities.

I know that there is an effort to get it back, to keep it alive, I know in some reservations children are being taught their native tongue.

I still have the impression that natives are highly spiritual, even if they have lost their connection to their original religious ways, and I feel that this type of intellectuallity and spirituality is evident and present in the responses in the forum.

Spiritual does not necessarily mean being a medicine man, a shamman or a wise elder. It also means being able to state that beauty fades, and that one should not waste another's time based only on the looks....

Anyway, I have said too much...

From the bottom of my heart a "hey" to all Indians out there, regardless if they are fit like this Eric actor person or not....

Brightest Blessings

lol.... yup... I was dead bored at that point you can obviously see...

Yes, silly me.... LOTR had several great characters to fall in love with and have wet dreams and all....

I will agree with you, you are so right.... NOTHING can compare to a real and actual man, flesh and bones, that you can touch, kiss, hold, talk to, and bond emotionally with...

After all I feel all the people on the internet are trully deeply looking for that bond, that we often call unconditional love...

I do not think that what we usually percieve as unconditional love is very healthy most of the times, as its got lots of codependance in it often, .... but I will go for the term anyway, because it is romantic and I like it...

So yeah... I am after UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, with a guy with all his quirks and funny spots, with all his wisdom and spirituality, with all his beauty and ugliness...

Once you ve found your "man" none of the above really matters...

Blessings you all !
