i was living in a hotel in mankato mn. and had just dropped off my ex at the hospital and saw it on the t.v. in the e.r. waiting room. as soon as i saw it i knew that the air space is restrictive to jets of that size and how low it was flying that something was very suspicious. then the second plane. i knew we were under attack then. i remember hearing everyone gasp and i remember my muslces tightening and how angry i was. this was the beginning to a day i will never forget. i remember writting the song "war cry" to the news as i watched and my level of rage jus grew and grew. i remember how tense and enraged i was and how i wanted to write this angry and violent song and release that into something. i think i succeeded in that. from that day on i am reminded of it everytime i hear the song or we come to another 9/11 another year later. never forget, honor the ones that lost and gave thier lives to bring down that plane. and most of alll the ones still over there doing the damned thing. 9/11/09

`i was getting ready for work and my boys were getting ready for school. my son (now 23) was watching tv and his face was just blank, and his mouth fallen as i walked down the hallway to the livingroom. i said, whats wrong? he pointed to the tv and i just dropped to my knees, and then the second plane hit. so much emotions, so much sadness, so much sorrow. and the people all pulled together to get each other thru it. donations, emails, supports for each other.
i walked away from friends that were like, OH WELL! cause its not an OH WELL! that was my anger. they said, that people die everyday... but not like that, here!
i carried that heavy sadness with me for many many months, maybe even years.
thank you trubb for posting this. its important that we acknowledge the sacrifices made for this country we live in. and how we CAN all get along, but sadly - it takes a tragedy like this one to make it happen.

`I was at work.. Across from the towers in NJ. In clear view. We watched the 2nd plane hit from one of the TV screens at work. Although I could have probably walked outside to see it was too difficult. I used to work in the towers months before, where coworkers would tell me about the first bombing attempts and how scary. I worked on the 72nd floor of tower 2. When it was stormy, you could feel the building sway, but it was beautiful inside. I tried calling people I knew in the tower when it was on flames but no one answered, and then hours later when the towers fell we all left work .. it was probably 11:30 or so. I turned on my radio. Music stations were all silent just relaying news. They were asking for all retired cops and firemen to report to NYC. We didn't know at that time how many firefighters we had lost. Cells weren't working. Street lights weren't working. Traffic was slow. I heard on the radio that a plane was heading up the Hudson (the one that would go down in PA) and I swore if I saw ANY plane whatsoever that I would run. I made it home quite slowly. Days later it just seemed like an awful nightmare. We were paranoid of any trucks or cars carrying supplies -- buses were stopped before going thru the tunnel into NYC to make sure they weren't carrying people with explosives.. such a horrible and sad time. I have not been able to watch the footage to this day, nor the movie.
