Its not a matter of "buying into it" I had drawn these conclusions long before I ever came here. to see ravenboy voice what I had already believed was for me confirmation to my own thoughts, and happy to see another shared some of the same beliefes with me.
to those who did not grow up in a world that didnt accept you, familly who thought bad of you because you were exactley what they feared in themselves, that I was different, i was not their "normal" because I refused to play tennis or be a good quiet little girl and not talk back and not question authority, i was the black sheep when I wanted a pony, when i wanted to help every single creature that came to me, because I wanted to run, wild and free and get dirty and not sit and embroider or read or color.
I was "wrong" in their eyes. only my mother ebraced our heritage, and she too was scorned by her own parents. I did not accept their church or their schools, I dont follow for the sake of belonging because it has taught me nothing. I went out and found my own answers for myself. I respect what ravenboy has writen here and do not see it as condecending or preachy, as I accept your opinion and everyone eleses as well. i am a child of 3 worlds, my Irish/English and my Native American yet I belong in none in their eyes.

WARNING: If my posts are not to your liking, please don't read them. It is a simple solution to avoid any unnecessary conflicts and meaningless bickering. The following posting is intended for FULLMETAL.
Thanks FULLMETAL...it is good to hear a voice of reason and peace...
The last thing you mention is actually very thought-provoking...to belong to more than one "world" collectively...sometimes makes you be judged to belong to none of them separately...and yet the sum of who you are is greater than the singular ones they might belong to (of course this is not a judgement of any persons moral or indeed any kind of human value, it is only our actions that separate us in worth)...and yet, we all hail from pretty much the same folks...go far back enough and we're all much more closely related than many would like to think...or even dare to think...and that discomfort can be revealed in the expression of shunning those that we know are of immediate mixed heritage...because of an inability to deal with differences...and that is putting it nicely /smiles.
Many have an easier time to push away people of a different colour/creed. Racist and prejudiced in other words...it gets a bit more difficult for them when it is someone of a mixed heritage...not as easy...but usually, many tend to err on the side of caution...which in this case means, judge even a “half-breed as the other...the ones different from yourself. Sometimes they might even take pity on you and "benevolently" favour you with their teachings and "higher" and more "civilised" manners. You are then supposed to be grateful...and if you refuse their offerings...well, I guess you know the rest...as it seems you've been there.
The shocking thing is also that, not only do they do this when it comes to big issues such as the above, but even small things such as what you also mentioned, like having different interests. So what if you don't want to play tennis? Just because there is snow does not mean that we all need to play hockey...or even like hockey...or snow /smiles. Everything becomes about you being different on account of your heritage then doesn't it...all ills can be explained as being because of your other blood...and the other party might say the same about the other blood...damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Interesting...and sad. But I am glad about you, because you strike me as having positive stubbornness! You definitely seem stronger and like you know where you're at and have a kind and positive attitude...and at the end of the day...we can all find those other people who have kind hearts and open minds...who know that things run deeper than your mere blood...it is the heart that counts! And how you apply it...decent people will always recognise this in you...no matter where you sit or stand. And that's where you belong...and that is greater than any one nation/place or such...it does not require a place. More strength to you!
Thanks for posting and be well /smiles.
