Everything that has ever happened in my life is the perfection of it, to prepare me for the good I have in my life and the good that is to come.

`I am so very very thankful for those working towards decolonization and advocating for our people in a respectful way. I am thankful that I am about to finish my degree. I am thankful for the knowledge I gained, and the fire in my blood. I am thankful for all the people who cross my path; friends, family, and especially my children.

`I'm mostly thankful for my son. It was tough being a single mother putting myself through university to be a teacher (that was my hope for our better life).

Many times I was in tears and on the point of quitting because of the hardship and my own insecurities. He just quietly encouraged me to keep going, he picked up domestic chores to make life a bit easier for us while I studied and worked 2 part time jobs, he put petrol in my car when I was flat-broke.

Now I have a job I love. My son is at university himself now with a beautiful girlfriend who simply adores him.

Yeah, I'm definitely grateful for my son...where the heck did this beautiful soul come from??

Oh..and I'm really thankful for my job, working with teenagers is a humbling experience.

you are fortunate indeed to have elders like that. Anyone who lives in a community that has wise ones available is a blessed soul indeed. I have had to find my own way..it has been very hard..but the punch line to this cosmic joke is in many ways for young ones I am now the elder..LOL
I do feel very blessed that I can impart on those young enough to be my children lessons that I have had to learn the hard way..miracle of miracles they seem to listen.
