A Prayer by Lakota Sioux dedicated to the dead from the Vietnam War
Hóyewaye...! Mitakuye oyasin...! Remember this... We are all related...!
Grand Mother East:
From you comes the sun which brings life to us all; I ask that you have the sun shine on my friends here, and bring a new life to them -- a life without the pain and sadness of the world; and to their families, bring your sun for they also need your light for their lives.
Grand Father South:
You bring the storms from the south which brings the rains to nourish us and our crops. Be gentle when you fall on my friends; and as the rain touches them, let it wash away the pain and sadness that they carry with them.
Grand Mother West:
You take the sun from us and cradle it in your arms, then you bring darkness onto us so that we may sleep. When you bring the darkness to my friends here, do so without the nightmares that we have had for so long. Let your stars and moon shine on my friends in a gentle manner; and as they look at the stars, they remember that those stars are the spirits of my friends shining on them and those friends are at peace.
Grand Father North:
You are the Warrior, you have ridden alongside my friends here into battle, you have also felt their love and caring when you were wounded or lonely; ride alongside of them, for now they are in this the hardest battle for their life, the battle for inner peace. Now is the time for you to care for them.
Grand Father Sky:
May your songs of the winds and clouds sweep the pain and sadness out of my friends' hearts; as they hear those songs, let them know the spirits who are with those songs are at peace.
Grand Mother Earth:
I have asked all the other Grand Fathers and Grand Mothers to help my friends rid themselves of the troubles that weigh so heavy on their hearts. This way, the weight they carry will be less; and they will walk more softly on you.
Grand Mother Earth:
From your womb all spirits have come when they return to you; cradle them gently in your arms and allow them to join their friends in the skies. If they want to hurry themselves to you, tell them you are not ready; and they must wait, for now they can pass on peace to others.
May the Great Spirit watch over you, and may you be at peace.

Sure we could be more serious and probably in very interesting manner.
I have never been in religious laws but when I read such prayer I better understand why so many peoples wishe to become spiritually "Indian".
All that speak about the ties between the humans and the world around them what is a big need nowaday all around the world.
Not having personal beliefs I still considere that religion was first a way to incitate us to be better as human beings ! It's maybe not the best position to have regarding to the different religions for those who hope to win a kind of competition but for me a creator can't be more stupid than the ones who believe in him and there is no possibility for us to hide our bad acts in taking as excuse to serve our religion.
I'm not a witch because I'm a bad person, I'm a witch for those who lie to themself and use of their beliefs (in religion or society codes) to allow themselves to act as beasts in all good conscience !
Have I been too serious ? Maybe because I know I can't change the human beings, they are all too much different !

`Zoupi, you are 100% accepted and thought so highly of just for being who you are as a person. I am not religious either..but I can still be an angel, or a beast--depending. What soothes ones soul? Suppose that would be a different answer for every individual.

`Yes in beliefs I'm not fluent but as human being I can tell that my rebel friend is perfectly inside my definition of a true "human being", not a disciplinate monkey, no more than a domestic robot.
Some of your injuries are similar as mines but our journeys stay different because of our differences and that's well what is interesting for us to share here. Keep to fight for you wellness, that will give many happiness inside other lifes. Personnally I will always keep a place here for you to stay if you need or just want to.
