And I don´t want to talk about this any more, I worked with children and women for 25 years there is no need to fight about trivial things like what has been going on. And I have to agree..every country has his own dark blackground..and I prefer working for the things I want to reach in my life. But everybody is different and has to do what they might feel inside. Little moccasins is going her way ! Blackfootedgirl is going her way and you are going yours. No reason to fight about or playing the guardian for other people. I hope this is the end now ...

In response to the above quote,It was not a slap in the face intended at you personally, I was just stating that I found it hard to understand why a simple question can't be answered in reply to your post.
Now As a blanket response ,this topic isn't about what we have all been through personally unless it deals with the topic. There may be individuals considering marriage with an alien for love, but have concerns or doubts that need validating through other peoples experiences or thoughts. What a person says could have a positive impact on a reader whether we know it or not.
For example, My brother married his wife in her home country of Mexico. They had met here in the US while attending her senior year in High school ,after the wedding they waited over one year for her paperwork to be approved so they could be together. Had he married her first in the US there would have been no wait, just endless paperwork, then they could have gone to Mexico to have the big wedding for her family with out problems upon returning. Being young they did not know that although they had married legally in her native country she would not be allowed back into the states because they did not have their paperwork in order regarding the required visas prior to the wedding.
Also If you meet an alien you wish to spent the rest of your life with ,you must participate in the paperwork process regarding your marriage, you must agree to sponsor them, etc.... If they are already here under a work visa that must be renewed, sometimes it is not. It is best to have your paperwork started prior to a denial of a work visa so it doesn't look suspect.
All of us have had thought our own concerns that have been validated by either what we have read or by another persons advice or from others personal experiences , and some times we base our decision on that or sometimes we just jump in feet first blindly.
Why is it so hard to just stay on topic, it is not meant to be condescending,an insult nor a reprimand ,but a simple request at the beginning of the thread. There are lots of other forums topics in NAP where you do not have to stay on topic.

`I have no experience with this personally. But my good friend and partner at work would gladly marry his long-term, live-in boyfriend just TO make him legal, if they were legally allowed to marry in our state..because he is in love and is always nervous about the other getting taken away by immigration. So I suppose if people are in-love they are going to do what thier heart tells them??I dont know what I would do. Probably what I thought I needed to do to be with that person, if I go by my past behavior.right or wrong.

`It would be nice if the law were equal for all regardless of gender. Wish your friend the best and good luck. The law library is a wealth of knowledge and the law librarians know how to look up all the appeals and linking case law, most are glad to help .

`My friend and his partner have been together for some time now. And when they look at eachother you can FEEL the mutual admiration between them. I wish I could say I see that between other couples I know even monthly..but I dont. It is rare unfortunately.
