A monumental Native American Indian Film is casting individuals who's ancestors are Native American Indian. Based on a TRUE STORY this SAG feature film needs to be as AUTHENTIC and ACCURATE as possible which includes casting. For those that are familiar with Cherokee history, the story is set around Little Carpenter, Old Tassel, Oconostota, Dragging Canoe, Isaac Thomas and Nancy Ward. Though there will be many speaking parts and extras, we are on a manhunt for our main character. We have searched talent databases over the past year and have NOT yet FOUND our LEADING MAN. All speaking roles are paid based on SAG scale. I am now going outside the box to find what Production needs. Listed below is what the MAIN CHARACTER ROLE REQUIRES: Screenplay revolves around this character-previous acting preferred, yet willing to consider non actor if talented Ethnicity: Native American Indian Cherokee preferred Gender: Male Age: Early 20's Height: 6'3"- 6'5" Look: Attractive to very attractive Physique: Big, bulky, muscular, built like "The Rock" (WWF Wrestler) This film covers decades in time and is compared to Native American Indian version of the monumental African American Film, "Roots" A period piece takes place in Tennessee and North Carolina from mid to late 1700's, the beginning of the Cherokee removal. This screenplay is based on an 8 1/2 year study. The film is Part 1 of a Trilogy that will end with Part 3 in 1842. The producers are making every effort to stay true to the actual historical events, and are consulting with members of the represented Tribal Governments. This feature film will be shot in North Carolina and Louisiana. Some lead roles have already have been cast-Director is WELL KNOWN released at alter date.

`**"Main Character role requires...".."Native American Indian preferred gender: Male Age: Early 20's Height 6'3"-6'5" Look: Attractive to very attractive Physique: Big, Bulky, muscular, built like "the Rock" (WWF Wrestler).."
..no offence but OMG here we go again? and is Brad Pitt going to be the troubled white man who learns something but leads the way at the same time???? Well girls I suppose we can be prepared to get "juicy" (as Johnmarlon so eloquently put it) at yet another Harlequin stereotype that dosent quite fit, and objectifies, the very real men it is geared to represent.

`Well, if you noticed it did say "preferably"...they do leave the door open for the Universal Studios "natives". You know..with the nordic pedigree, the fake-n-bake tan, and of course..the long black wig.

Hi girls !
Are you well speaking of movies characteres ? I can't believe that you're really surprise or uncomfortable with the description of what they considere being the most appropriate appearance for a Native man to show on screen .
Movies always run after archetypes. Those they can be sure the public from all over the world will love. The Sweedish for example must be bond with light eyes. More generally the women must be slim with big breasts and the men tall and muscular.
Even here it's visible that everywhere in the world peoples keep about the Natives a picture of very beautiful persons wich comes from a whole view including the traditionnal clothing. Add a notion of "warrior" and a little piece of "spirituality" and you obtain a "ideal" charactere of movies.
If I told you that when I saw the movie "Smoke Signals" I told to myself : "it's sad they made play the role of the Victor's father by a white" speaking of Gary Farmer outch ! It's true that I remember the old westerns where the "Indians" was played by some whites with a "tun" of makeup and some ridiculus perukes on the head lol !
I can understand that for a part it's exasperating but this cliché is well less heavy to endure than the one American film makers seems to have about French : Some treacherous, with one unbearable accent and having a breath of Coyotte because of their stinking cheeses lol (dixit our actors who get to work in USA for a while) .
To be a little more serious, what would be more interesting would be to see more actors with Native origines playing modern roles, to not only call them for historical movies. Even without their bows and their long hairs, I'm sure they could maintain the rate of humidity so dear to Johnmarlow (I joke of course. His answer made me smile because of the kind of post he was answering to )
Peace on you and at soon for others (let me remember...) CRAPS lol !

`Smoke Signals was an excellent movie and it depicted that Native family. It was amazing to see that we all came in different shapes and sizes would not of wanted to see the dad in loin cloth..The point is to stereo type us as all longing the same is wrong also why is it when they have native women pictures they are all with white features but dark skin. GIVE ME A BREAK PLEESE!!!
Really I have never seen one native guy in loin cloth walking around the rez..If I did I believe I would bust out laughing...Ha Ha !!!

I thought to a more covered version of clothing, very worked, I personally find harmonious and very majestic but now that you speak of it, in loin... why not lol !

`Well you just do what you feel is right.. Darkness comes for a reason, but always remember:
YOUR TONGUE IS TO SPEAK WITH WHEN YOU KNOW WHAT TO SAY AND HOW TO SAY IT.
YOUR TEETH ARE TO KEEP YOUR TONGUE IN YOUR MOUTH UNTIL YOU FIGURE IT OUT...

`Okay...I have had an edge lately. In my personal life as well. And I am struggling..with what I have no idea although as I left work today a cop who likes to stop in called me a "burn-out". Of course I was offended. But on the way home I had to wonder if there was truth in what he said as my co-workers have been a bit jumpy with me, and I used to be the comic relief there. Clearly, I am out of balance and have only been guided by my own compass. I am not here to impress anyone, or find a date. Just for the friends I enjoy "batting" with and maybe lend and encouraging word when I can. Maybe someone can identify with this, maybe not. Maybe I just need to find a different compass. Thanks for being a friend!
