JUDGMENTS ARE EGOCENTRIC CONDEMNATIONS OF OTHERS FOR THEIR DIFFERENCES OF VIEWS,ACTIONS,OR ATTITUDES,

ME IS A POINT OF REFERENCE, RATHER THAN WE

THE ME MAKES THE RULES TO CONVICT

THE ME PROSECUTES AND JUDGES.

THE ME CUTS THE VICTIM DOWN,IN ORDER TO GAIN FALSE SENSE OF CONTROL.

Well, everyone does and says things. I guess where I try to get at is we all do things messed up, we all make mistakes whether it's staring at us or not. My main point is to step back and try to think about why someone might act in a certain way. My teacher opened my eyes to the thinking and
I'll quote her:
"If you walk by an old friend sticking his head outside the window at a psych ward and he screamed very bad things to you, how would you feel? Now, lets say your friend wasn't ever in that place and you came by his house and he said those things to you, would it be the same feelings?"

Being offended or upset over something is momentary and I tend to lean towards brushing it off. I spent two years living every day all day being called a white boy and ----ed with consistently in middle school in South Dakota so I know exactly what it's like; my step dads family in SD there was responsible for most of it and they lived all around me.
I witness it first hand through my younger cousins. Like me they are understanding and it affects them only momentarily. Most of the time it is an extreme form of joking. I wouldn't say it's right for them to engage in talking like that but I understand why they do it even though I may dislike it. Understanding doesn't mean condoning it. We can only do so much for correcting such things, then an understanding is needed to keep it from bothering us.

`So..yet another sticking my foot in my mouth moment. I had earlier passed, publicly, a judgement on you in that I said you probably haven't experienced hardships like others here....so I will publically apologize to you for that. Sometimes it's easier to assume the grass is greener without having been on that side of the fence. Johnmarlon I would hope that you have read enough of me here to know that I would not have done that with a conscious attempt to make light of your experience in life, or to make a judgement against you as a human being.
