It was great to hear that Leonard Peltier finally received his diabetes testing kit and medical attention but is it really big news in America ?because I'm afraid it's still not in England.I would appreciate any advice on raising awareness.

`It is very sad, it is big news in America. America has a corporate controlled media. Peltier was framed by the FBI, that is, he was blamed for friendly (FBI own bullets) fire.
So, no, I am happy to hear he is getting required and responsible medical care. You will find, America whether it be on the reservation or in the Mainstream, Natives are required to keep their mouth shut, or not to rock the boat, to conform, if it is not Mainstream culture who requires Natives to bend over and conform, it is our own people.
The best way to get the word out is to blog, sodahead or myspace, or google, and some of the major newspapers each have good blogs, do not allow anyone to dissuade you, one person fighting for the right thing, is better then none.
THanks for this data,
Mel

`I received an e-mail via a Native Org saying Peltier was beaten in prison within the last few days. He was very seriously hurt. Apparently he was transfered to another facility when this happened.

`Riverotter, I have read your post. THere are no words to describe how barbaric, and cruel that is. THat poor man did nothing wrong and yet
has been made to live worse than any prisoner. While it was good to see he
got that medication he desperately needed, it is heartbreaking to hear of that vicious beating. This is all so incredibly wrong, and something needs to be done to free this man. He deserves to live the rest of his life whether it's only a few days or a few years in dignaty, freedom, and peace.
