Warrior Path

I buried my child along Warrior Path
under a cloudy sky
beneathe a patch of grass
and in her place planted a flower
watered by tears from the sky
in the form of a late summer shower.

Now this isolated place
will be my sacred space
to dream of a life never lived
a life that wasn't mine to give
and to pray my grandfather to meet you there
to rest in his arms and keep you safe
until i arrive and can take his place.
