RELATIONSHIPS, NOT SO MUCH

I LOOK FOR HONESTY, LOYALTY, AND RESPECT. ITS PRETTY SIMPLE, HOWEVER SOME PEOPLE SEEM TO HAVE A PROBLEM GRASPING THESE SIMPLE CONCEPTS. I PITY YOU IF YOU CALL YOURSELF TRYING TO HAVE A RELATIONSHIP. IT JUST WON'T WORK. I BELIEVE ITS VERY HARD TO FIND THESE QUALITIES IN PEOPLE ANYMORE, SO I CHOSE TO REMAIN OUT OF RELATIONSHIPS. ITS SAFER TO JUST SEE PEOPLE AND KEEP IT SIMPLE AND RESRECTFUL UPFRONT THEN HAVE PEOPLE GETTIN HURT.I TELL PEOPLE FROM THE BEGINNING THAT I AM NOT ABLE OR CAPABLE OF BEING IN A RELATIONSHIP BECAUSE I KNOW THAT I AM NOT GOING TO FIND ALL THE QUALITIES I NEED IN A PERSON. LOL OK IM RAMBLING NOW. BUT SERIOUSLY, HOW WELL DO YOU REALLY KNOW SOMEONE. ITS EASIER TO JUST SEE PEOPLE AND KEEP IT OPEN. I LIKE OPEN.

I would say it's not very respectful to tell people you pity them for trying to have a relationship, yet you say that's what you're looking for?

`I think it's difficult when people meet on-line (not thats what you did..just saying that cause we all on-line "talking" about it). Real people can be a disappointment when one finds them to be just a human being. I know I did that and spent quite some time snivelling about it here for a few days...a fact I am not proud of! Talk about focus on the negative..and not fair..anyway..

We all struggle with being human in this society which doesnt always veiw kindness and honesty as a strength. And a lot can talk the talk, ya know? I am hard on people..sometimes I want it all without compromise..but I am not perfect either. So I ask myself 'is this person kind'..yes! 'kind and respectful to me...in private AND public'...yes! did they like thier MOTHER? ha! (but it is important). Thrills only last a moment.

You are a good guy Trubble...but you live near (or in actually) a beautiful but "mean" city. It can be easy to get a little jaded..I know that place well.

`i pity the ones who do not possess these qualities that try to be in relationships. i myself chose not to be in relationships simply because the majority of people i meet have no concept of these as said before simple qualities. however it doesnt change the fact that i love my people and this includes all natives but i dont want to see them get hurt or hurt each other. its a delicate game we play tryin to be a relationship. i turned in my game piece along time ago.

`Relationships aren't for everybody. I think that in many cases the very concept of relationship is pinned in some kind of invisible box that defines what a healthy relationship needs to be when in reality the definitions of it can be as subjective as the couple needs it to be and agrees upon it to be. There seem to be too many expectations and not enough mutual communication in my experience. Not to mention, that everything is in constant motion so in order for anything to work there must be constant communication and re balancing the circle or the relationship can become stagnant. Myself personally, I don't really know if I'm cut out for a relationship either sometimes. I'm a devoted and driven woman but much of my energy is to my children. I'm also a very independent woman. Its been difficult to find a balanced equal. But, I'm not willing to sacrifice on that.

`a man who is worth your time will find your devotion to your children a quality he can find comfort in and respect....my opinion anyway. ..i read once and i dont know if this is true but that relationships that work dont depend on two people all totally "healthy" coming together and having it work, but two people where this persons broken areas mesh with this persons broken areas. that sounds like an element of compassion between two people to me? so perfection may not be required after all like we are taught thru pop psychology.

`I agree...some broken places can comsume another if one isnt careful. I do believe in compassion tho, that we are human.....it is all too easy to fall off pedastals.

In my nation we call checking your inner flaws a battle with your smoking mirror ~ Tezcatlipoca. Its a constant reflection of your true self and areas you need to grow. Sometimes seeing another person's flaws is easier than seeing your own. Tezcatlipoca is one that will let you see your reflection as you want it through the haze of your own perception and then suddenly he blows the smoke away revealing who you really are.. And then CRASH goes the ego.. Funny thing, even when you battle him and win, he comes back again.. sneaky lil trickster! lol
